Here’s a quick rundown of the most recent Midjourney Weekly Office Hours:

(1) Midjourney V5.3

  • V5.3 includes an upscaler and style personalization feature — timeline: 2 weeks plus.

(2) Midjourney V6

  • If V6 is delayed, a V5.5 may be introduced.

(3) Website

  • In the next two weeks, website Phase One will be released, including a new design, improved search, and faster performance.
  • Phase two, which includes social aspects, is expected to be released in about six weeks. However, the social feature is still in development.

(4) Ongoing and future projects

  • 3D and video will be built on top of V6 and V7.
  • 3D has made significant progress. Video generation is promising, but it is still in development.
  • A better “described” feature is in development.
  • Mobile development is ongoing, but progress is slower due to the smaller team size.
  • More computing resources (4x) are anticipated by the end of the year.

(5) Other updates

  • Ezekiel Eastbrook discussed the creation of anime visuals for Day vs. Night, crowds, rooms, and the consideration of changing camera angles and framing. I haven’t created many anime illustrations. If this interests you, read the story and see if it is helpful.
  • Rob Young shared a story about the Midjourney photorealism prompts. The story is simple to read and accurate in many areas for creating realistic images. I like the Wes Anderson color palette. What do you think?
