ARC OF THE IMMORTALS/ Book 1 — Part 2
Pursuit: 50/ On the Move Part 2
Recap: Warrior Jac’s body remains unconscious while his spirit accessed the ship’s controls. Bendel tells Harry he’s using a probe with augments designed by Jac when the were friends, long ago. Jac is taken by higher-

- forces in Dreamtime to Touzdae’s mafa in the past on the El Moon to the Shrine of the Emmons Sisterhood. Her mafa gives Jac a scenario to give to Touzdae through his 3rd eye. Jac goes to current-day Needlecraft in the Well. Peace Jac’s Spirit melds with Warrior Jac and they blend.
The Fish is taken inside Bendel’s frigate. Bendel meets with Baz Timazhey (his cousin) while the Dark Ray machine is loaded into the cargo bay of the Fish.
Jac meets Touzdae in Dreamtime he opens his 3rd eye to impart her mafa’s message in 4D. Bendel explains the sinister action of the Dark Ray machine to Harry, but not his plans for it. Before Jac completes the transmission he is pulled away.
Recap done for now. And…
As Warrior Jac rematerialized within Peace Jac’s body an integration completed itself. Jac’s new unified self and body drifted to the deck. But he remained imprisoned within the cell aboard the Fish.
My body is electromagnetically locked. I can bilocate my spirit and my body. But as my Warrior Self or my Peace Self, but not both. Unless the lock is undone or unlocked, Jac thought.
Touzdae saw herself and her mafa as they once were centuries in the past. It was one of the Emmons neighborhoods on Antarian Prime. Her mafa questioned her without mentioning the subject matter of the question. At the time Touzdae hadn’t wanted to deal with it.
“Stop,” a voice said. It was the voice of her mafa. The scene between Touzdae and her mafa of the past froze.
“It is time that I explain everything. Everything I’ve come to know about duplicates,” Touzdae’s mafa said. She spoke from outside the stopped scene.
The message ended. Jac and the transmission ripped away. The transmission disconnected; a wrenching act. Touzdae was left in shock with a desperate need to know more.
Bendel, Baz, and Harry made a jump tube for distant coordinates on the edge of the galaxy. Once in the jump tube on auto-pilot, Bendel gathered his team around the navi-table.
He threw the route laid over real-time astrometric data above the navi-table. It was real-time imagery of a distant nebula on one of the outer arms of their spiral galaxy. Bendel studied the area for a thousand years. He used satellites, remote viewing, and one trip there and back by folding space.
“We will be folding space to get there, right?” Harry asked Bendel. “Because without it; it would take a thousand years to get there.”
“You worry too much, Harry. You need to trust the plan. Don’t you remember the war sphere the Genetics League built centuries ago?” Bendel was overconfident.
“Yes. But they never worked. So?”
“Obotue bequeathed one of the spheres to me. Now it has unique properties.”
“Chancellor Obotue of my Genetics League?” Harry said — amazed and insulted at the same time.
Bendel nodded. “Tell him Baz.”
Baz told Harry how the sphere could fold space for large fleets over vast distances.
“We’ll be there in 24 hours,” Baz said reading the stats off a screen. “We’ll go into the fold first followed by Bendel’s fleet.”
Touzdae moved the pod through the engine access tube to the hatch. It opened on an automatic command from Touzdae’s emotional print in her auric field. She entered the transdimensional cabin and made her way forward.
Once on the deck of the cockpit her body knowing picked up some irregular vibrations.
“Computer, do you have a visual record of the cockpit during the time before Jac’s consciousness was here?”
“Yes, would you like me to play it on the main viewing screen for you?” Touzdae hoisted herself up into the pilot’s chair.
“Yes, Maja is that you?”
“Yes, Touzdae, it is me, Maja.”
“Please play the visual record for me.”
There were two angles. Jac dematerialized on the deck; unconscious. “Freeze it there,” and Maja stopped the visual play’s forward motion.
She examined the still. “That’s not my Jac.” She went into meditation using the 27 breaths.
The Spirit of Pursuer Jac — or Warrior Jac as my Jac refers to that part of him. He made a protective spherical field around the Needlecraft. He did it to keep the paradox energy tendrils from affecting both me and the ship. And something beyond the sphere. What? Touzdae wondered in her thinking. There is love in Warrior Jac, a love of me.
“Maja, can you detect what is beyond the shield created by the duplicate Jac?”
“Scanning,” Maja the computer said.
Touzdae’s spirit was pulled out of the Needlecraft.
