ARC OF THE IMMORTALS/ Book 1

Pursuit: 13 / Touzdae’s Mission

Recap/Yon whispered in Jac’s ear as Touzdae separated dimensionally from Yon.

Recap (continued): The three escape crafts are blended together, but slightly out of phase with one another. Bendel questioned P-Jac’s judgment about releasing Crul Bahj from the bottom of the Escape Craft. Touzdae folded spacetime on a path to a mission from Bhantu, Yon jumped, and Jac popped out.

Touzdae slipped out of a partial merging with Yon. She saw a vision of Bhantu on his island in the sky. Within her two steps backward her consciousness went there. She appeared in her body as a spirit in front of Bhantu. Each felt the warmth of the sun.

“Greetings Touzdae,” Bhantu bowed. She blushed. “You are a Great One of the Emmons matriculating as we speak. Do you know why you are here?”

“Does it have anything to do with the safety of the Lingham Stone in this transdimensional cube?” she wondered moving her hand to a necklace with the one-by-one-inch cube that was not there.

“Oh yes, it does. Do not worry, Honored One, Touzdae, it is around your neck in the Platform world.”

He leaned forward and whispered in her ear.

“I understand Bhantu, and I am engaged in the task at hand.”

“Very good, Touzdae, Honored One, now back you go. It will be as if you never left. Careful of the disorientations,” he told her. She re-inhabited her body in the second step backward.

Aboard her version of the escape craft she savored the memory of the sweet kiss with Jac. The space folding started. Touzdae centered her thoughts and being. She manifested a two-for-one device. It was aging masque device with a hypnotizing blur effect generator. It deposited itself next to her helm chair as time and space folded around the J-NezTouz craft. The craft disappeared from the Platform and the Gata rogue planet. It reappeared around the third Altarian Moon: Entu. She was in the 6th generation of the Emmons Sect of the Sacred Sisterhood.

“Bearings, how far back in time have I gone? Is this the right time and place?” She checked the orbital scanner. “The right place,” and she sighed.

“Now the right time,” she whispered as she pulled the astrolabe from her satchel.

Jac thought, a Chair with details, a side table, and a cup of gren velvet hot tea. A swivel chair appeared with an ornate side table and a saucer with a cup of gren velvet hot tea. The ancient castle appeared around the cup. It was trillions of years old, said to possess secrets in the times of the broad sword, saber, and lance. And explosive black powder. Jac remembered his family heritage well.

He sipped the tea. On the other side of the castle outside the moat was a hole, said to have a bottomless pit. He manifested a fusion generator that covered the hole and then some. At the bottom of the generator was an intermittent agitation discharge drill.

An ancient Kritos appeared as Jac’s inner voice spoke so did the ancient Fa-Ma.

It is time, Jac’s inner voice spoke. “It is time, Jac,” the ancient one spoke with quiet dignity.

She sighed, relieved that she had arrived in the right time frame. Her body relaxed. She cloaked the ship. The orbit brought her over the sacred sight where pockets of breathable air had formed.

Nez appeared beside her. Touzdae ceased thrusters into the descent vector.

“You’re wondering what I am doing here, how I got here, and why am I here.”

Touzdae registered dismay followed by surprise and delight. “Why, yes, those are my questions and…”

“These sisters of your heritage will not — ” Nez, her message and her form de-resonated, as if she had been a hologram. She was gone. Touzdae noticed that she had not stopped the craft from drifting into a descent. And she concluded that was the reason for Nez’s abrupt exit. It was the ship’s entree through the magnetic-gravitational barrier.

Her craft wove through the invisible layers of the gravitational field. Gliding through smooth patterns it set down outside the main landing area. There were six small sisterhood solar sailors anchored to landing slips. She engaged the soft electromagnetic padded feet to insure a firm hold.

P-Jac burst through the inner door with a small cloud of smoke. What was once a grenade was a large puff of smoke from some black powder. As the smoke cleared nine Jacs fled down the corridors. Instinctively or impulsively P-Jac chose corridor seven.

Jac ran backward, shouting at the mirror image of himself; “Do you really think you can catch me?”

“Take me to the real Jac, now,” Pursuer Jack screeched.

He ran through a hallway with mirrors floor, walls, and ceiling. Okay I get it. I’m the real Jac, P-Jac thought.

Touzdae in an exo-suit entered the atmospheric air pocket. There was an inward whoosh sound and a cascading rainbow light. She hung her suit in the foyer; it was as her Ancestor Ma-Fa had taught her the million years-old-tradition. Hooded she entered the gathering space.

“We have been expecting you Emmons Touzdae from the far future,” the lead sister said. The others smiled and two said, “We welcome you.” Touzdae blushed as she turned off the masking and the blur.
