So It Begins Again/As It Was Written
I reach out with my being and include Jac and myself in the Platform World, she thought. I reach out with my being and include Jac and myself in the Platform World. I reach out with my being and include Jac and myself in the Platform World.
“Three thoughts,” she whispered to herself.
“Again nuanced and direct,” she said aloud as the craft faded in and out of the fog of the Hinterland.
My being filled with love includes me and Jac as integral loving partners in the Platform World with Yon. My being filled with love includes me and Jac as integral loving partners in the Platform World with Yon. My being filled with love includes me and Jac as integral loving partners in the Platform World with Yon.
“What secrets does Yon wish to convey?” she wondered aloud.
She continued her thinking litany.
Bendel and P-Jac cleared the stores beneath the captain’s cabin with the molecular transporter. They moved it into the main salon between the holographic tree and Luna’s sarcophagus in the Pool of Life. P-Jac used his extraordinary abilities to craft shelves over the pile of stores that filled the entire salon shorting out the holographic sky.
Once the emergency stores were cleared they lined the empty area with materials removed from Crul Bahj’s cell. They made giant doors below the cell that could be blown off with explosive bolts or charges.
P-Jac checked out the controls on the Escape craft while Bendel talked with Harry.
“You’ll be here by your lonesome, Harry. Do you think you can handle that?”
“I’m no child. Besides I have all these weapons you left me here.” There was a tepee of weapons at the center of the bridge aft of the helm. “Do I need to give Luna any energy?” Harry asked.
“Luna is fine. I’ve hooked up the half-life connections to Nez Fish’s main power supply. It’s a genius plan. It brings Luna close to being fully alive while keeping Nez weak. So you don’t touch the chamber, Harry,” Bendel said and added:
“Is that clear, Harry?”
“Yes, of course.” Harry looked away and rolled his eyes.
“I’m all set down here. The chamber is ready for the monster, and I am ready to take the ship into the Platform,” P-Jac’s voice came over the speaker.
Bendel climbed into the helm seat and flipped a switch. The chair rose into the bubble. “Molecular Transporter activated… cycle completed. Do you have it?”
“Instruments report a successful transfer. Going down for a visual check. Stand by,” P-Jac said into Bendel’s earpiece.
Bendel waited. Feeling confident, he lowered the chair from the bubble to the deck.
“Visual confirmation. I had to ratchet up the field strength and shock it. It seems to be complying. Are you coming?”
“Affirmative, on my way.”
“Jac, I need to speak with you soon, the time is coming for me to jump home,” Yon said.
“I hear you and am still receiving downloads from the source about the transdimensional tech,” Jac said.
“You believe it will take a long time, so it is taking a long time. Even now you were able to speak to me and receive the download into your being in parallel.”
“You’re right. Wow!” Jac removed his headset, jumped up, and hugged Yon briefly. “Thanks, Yon, for stating the obvious.
“Got it all,” Jac was ecstatic. Yon chuckled with heart-felt warmth.
The J-Nez-Touz craft emerged from the Iris and blended with Jac’s version of the ship. There were two of everything fading in and out of the reality space. Jac and Yon were at the bow peering out of the wide portals while Bendel and P-Jac appeared aft at the helm. They were talking and seemed unaware of Jac and Yon.
Jac thought, If I could only hear them without them knowing. Oh yeah. I am hearing them without their awareness of me.
“Oh shit!” Harry stared incredulously through the aft portals at the end of the ship where the escape craft should have been. Nothing. It was gone. It had disappeared after they went through the inner Iris.
“I wonder what this means?” he asked and then began looking at the monitors to detect a change.
Out of the aft part of the ship, the tail of the Fish began to unfold.
“What did you do that for?” Bendel was furious. / Jac listened to them.
“I had a feeling to release it now,” P-Jac said with great presence. / He really looks like me, Jac thought. — Release what?
“Release Crul Bahj, you idiot!” P-Jac shouted.
“I didn’t say anything or even think anything other than trying to understand why you released it,” Bendel said uncharacteristically ponderous.
Touzdae transdimensionally included her ship with the other two J-NezTouz crafts that had nearly merged. She did this from the forward bow which was once Nez Fish’s stern, without any mechanical tech. She appeared slightly merged with Yon as Yon was whispering in Jac’s ear. She slipped out and took two steps back.
The three ships began crashing into each other, minutely cracking bulkheads. Touzdae grabbed Jac and pulled him towards her in a soft embrace.
Yon jumped.
“I thought I just saw Touzdae,” P-Jac said.
Bendel took in a 360. “You must be hallucinating, Jac.”
Touzdae moved her J-NezTouz craft out of phase with the other ship and the cracking bulkheads ceased cracking.
“This would be fun if it were so -” Jac put a finger to her lips and then kissed her, transferring a thought. Please, Sweet One, Touzdae, careful what you say and what you think here due to instant manifestation.
“I hear Jac’s voice or thoughts or something,” P-Jac said.
Disengage from contact. I no longer hear them, nor can they hear me, meaning Bendel and P-Jac, thought Jac.
“Jac, I have to go. I — I…”
“You just got here,” Jac said.
“Bhantu is sending me on a mission.”
“Be safe. I love you.”
“And you are always in my heart, my love,” Touzdae said.
A moment later she popped out. Her ship separated from the other two.
Jac popped out.
Bendel and P-Jac stared at Jac and Touzdae saying goodbye to one another. They stared upwards through the overhead portals at Touzdae’s ship bent spacetime. and she was gone.
“Just think of Jac and you will be there to kill him once and for all,” Bendel said.
“I’m Jac. I should kill myself? Oh! Oh! Right, you mean him. Enemy-Jac.”
“Exactly. I’ll wait here. Summon me if you need assistance, but I know you won’t.”
