Proof Solid “Our Politicians” Are Lost
Both Democrats and Republicans are “Poor” facades of their former selves.
As the Peter Peterson Foundation article “BAD GOVERNANCE COULD BE MAKING OUR DEBT PROBLEMS WORSE” specifies:
“On August 1, 2023, Fitch Ratings, one of three major credit rating agencies, downgraded the U.S. long-term credit rating from its top mark of AAA to AA+, citing an “erosion of good governance” as one of the central reasons for that action.” … In Fitch’s assessment, “there has been a steady deterioration in standards of governance over the last 20 years, including on fiscal and debt matters.”
The AP story headline reads, “Speaker McCarthy ousted in historic House vote, as scramble begins for a Republican leader.”

The Republicans Behaving Badly
The highlights for the ones who did not watch the vote:
- The House voted 216 to 210 On a resolution from Rep. Matt Gaetz (R, FL-1) to vacate the leadership role.
- McCarthy only lasted nine months in the post as House Speaker.
- McCarthy becomes the very first House Speaker to be removed from this office.
- The House now has an “interim speaker.”
- The House Republicans now have to organize another bout of elections for a House Speaker. AND, do this with a slim majority, meaning the fractured Republican party is in trouble.
- Solid background information — McCarthy became speaker of the house in January after 15 rounds of voting in four days. This only happened after he agreed to several concessions (from less than 8 Republicans).
The Democrats Behaving Badly
- During G.W. Bush, the Democrats were running Congress for about two years leading up to the recession of 2008; regardless of who got the “blame” (everybody likes to point fingers), according to Peter Wallison in The Atlantic story, “Hey, Barney Frank: The Government Did Cause the Housing Crisis.” Further, in the Medium story “The 2023 Recession,” April 2022 published a logic chart that shows how it happened (copied here)

It does not end there; Pelosi (a heavy-weight Democrat then), instead of closing the loopholes that caused the crisis and sitting down, decided to “SPEND MORE MONEY” (socialist governments “take care of people”- here it is called buying votes) by printing money we did not have. She pushed through the House the “American Recovery and Reinvestment Act” at a cost of $800 Billion. It produced very few meaningful results — the worst, unemployment rose dramatically.
- Afterward, the Obama-Pelosi policies of 2009 and 2010 created the slowest economic recovery since the Great Depression.
- Aside from economics, she was the advocate of the “Affordable Care Act (ACA).” The worst health care legislation in American history. A disaster in the catapulting costs that eventually were passed down to the people.
- Since Obama, she pushed to impose costly renewable-energy mandates in a ridiculous attempt to control the weather and battle climate change. She got her way with Biden, raising the cost at the pump, out-of-pocket cost for the people, driving Biden’s numbers down with climbing inflation.
- A single actor has dominated the Democratic party since about 2010. That is Pelosi. She has consistently proposed more regulations, higher taxes, less freedom, and fewer healthcare options by making “The Government” the center of the political universe in America.
Bottom Line
OUR political parties are and have been “nomad tribes” walking in the desert of “needs and wants nobody can afford.” They have lost their way while BOTH claim they are doing it “for us.”
The 216 vote only had 8 Republicans Nays relying on the Democrats to make up the difference with 208 of their votes, which they gladly did. Most of the 8 NO votes were the ones that forced 15 rounds of voting in January before the speaker was elected.
The truth is totally independent of WHAT PARTY YOU vote for. BOTH are reflections of each other. Partisanship and fighting are the norms of running the business of government, WHILE BOTH CLAIM WHAT THEY DO IS CONSTITUTIONAL!
THEY ARE NOT !!!!!
CAREER POLITICIANS ARE THE DEATH OF AMERICA.
They NEVER learn anything, and they ALL think they have a better way without asking us.

Why? It is hard to tell who is working “for the people” and who is working for Corporations and the Rich.
Today, Corporations and the Rich “own” the government. They are the only ones who prosper no matter what calamity falls down on us.
How about the $33 TRILLION Dollar calamity?
They BOTH compete as to who can dig a deeper hole to put us in.
All of that in spite of proof on the contrary —

So far, nobody in government has passed a law that makes “Lobbying” a crime for politicians.
NONE of the government offices should have doors.
