Presence

A poem to slow down and just be

Presence.

The wind on your face as the cold air fills your nostrils. The water lapping against the shore. Your feet walking on the wet morning grass.

Presence is now.

Presence.

The smile of a stranger and the light in their eyes. The laugh of a baby as you make a silly face.

Presence is a moment.

Presence.

The breeze blowing the leaves on the vine. The feeling of your body on the waves. The moment before you climax while making love.

Presence is touch.

Presence.

The smile on our lover’s face. The moment you jump out of a plane to skydive. The heart aching for adventure.

Presence is life.

Presence.

The knowing that burns inside of you for something more. The mix of excitement and fear. The whisper of Spirit to your heart.

Presence is spirit.

Presence.

The last breath you take on this earth. The spirit is freed from the body. The love you feel in this life and the next.

Presence is eternal.

Presence is love.
