Posy Gets ‘Unwrapped’ for Christmas!
BJ’s Christmas This or That Challenge
I’m not usually one to participate in a Quiz, but JK Mill tagged me, and I don’t want to be a grumpy pants. However, if sexy pants are an option I’ll answer in character as Posy Churchgate, writer of one-handed reads, romantic fiction, chillers and thrillers.
I’m also editor for Tantalizing Tales & Teaser Tales, and contributors to those publications probably see me as the Scrooge type, because I’m a strict perfectionist!
Christmas Eve or Christmas Day?
Christmas Eve! I really love the 23rd and the 24th of December. I’ll be in a blur of ticking off chores, wrapping and last-minute shopping, but the anticipation of what is to come is delicious!
From my saucy stories, y’all know that teetering on the brink of a hotly anticipated moment is one of my favourite things.
Santa or No Santa?
Magical Santa, the guy who stretches out the hours of 1 night to last until all his business is done. The Santa of legends who brings joy and rewards.
I’m suspicious of department store Santas, what are they hiding behind their synthetic beards and badly fitting red suits?
Naughty or Nice?
I can be both. Many of my posts as Posy are sultry stories of solo stroking, hot hook-ups or married merengues, but I write nice and wholesome too.
Marie A. Rebelle recently hosted Wallflower to Wildflower, a serial about Grace, a high-school girl riding the rollercoaster of social awkwardness and dating dilemmas.
Egg Nog or Hot Chocolate?
I’ve never tried egg nog, but anything with chocolate always appeals to me, plus it has creamy topping with sprinkles. Last year I had a delicious soya hot chocolate with cherry sauce, which was like drinking a black forest gateau!
Velvet or Fur?
Oooh now you have me on the horns of a dilemma! I’m very tactile so my descriptions of sensations often relate to fabrics: silk, satin, lace. As for fur — I’ve never penned any werewolf erotica, but I should!
For those reasons I’ll say velvet, because I’ve definitely (over)used that adjective in my writing.
Red or White?
I love white lingerie. I dress my heroines up in this ‘angelic’ colour as a contradiction with how down and dirty they are willing to get.
My header image is a ghost from Christmas past!
Peppermint or Cinnamon?
In the UK peppermint isn’t a flavour much associated with Christmas, but we do use cinammon in our decorations, our gingerbread men and our mulled wine. I’ll plump for cinnamon spice.
Frosty or Rudolph?
One year I built a snowman and used gold nuggets for flower arranging to give him a glittering grin. I dressed him as a pirate rapscallion, which flew my flag!
Mistletoe or Mommy Kissing Santa Claus?
Mistletoe — always. I’m a real romantic at heart, and the placing of the mistletoe at a Christmas Eve party sets the ball rolling for an age gap fling which ran until New Year.
Real or Fake?
Fake trees, fake snow, fake presents — I embrace them all to make my home look festive and co-ordinated for the Yuletide Season.
At a work Christmas party my MC plasters on a fake smile because what she’s just discovered makes her life a charade.
Wrapped or Bagged?
Wrapped, of course! I love to make my paper co-ordinate with the tree. I make my own labels and add curling ribbon.
Same applies to my sexy characters, I depict my ladies wrapped in tempting lingerie, and quite often the men too.
Home for the Holidays or Christmas Abroad?
Abroad: Hotel sex is a favourite setting for my fiction. Stripping away the concerns of everyday life and putting my characters a fresh arena, they’re eager to mess up those sheets or try out new positions on unfamiliar furniture.
Prancer or Dancer?
The dance floor is the perfect place to begin a sexy scene — lots of skin and body contact, plus your characters moving to the music can display their suppleness. Isn’t sex a horizontal dance?
Let It Snow or Mele Kalikimaka?
Again my traditional values come to the fore, Let It Snow has been drummed into me by so many Christmas films that it plays in my head when I do festive chores! I always watch White Christmas, and a song from that film inspired a dark tale.
Baubles or Garland?
It would be greedy to say both, wouldn’t it? I’ll pick garland because I’d never decorate with baubles alone, but I might christmas-ify with sprigs of holly or pine cones.
Gas or Wood-Burning?
Wood burning fires are the best. I dream of cosy, romantic cuddles by the fire, sipping hot chocolate or something stronger. They’re likely to lead to nuzzling and snuggling, stroking and touching until the clothes slip off and the body heat matches the intensity of the flames.
City or Rural?
City is better for casual hook-ups, it supports sneaking around and voyeurism/exhibitionism. Plus there’s the anonymity of many people around, all too busy with their own lives to worry about what you’re getting up to.
Turkey or Roast Beast?
I’ve turned my back on all that, and have been pescatarian for a few years now, but in my meat eating past I preferred bird to beast.
Elf or The Grinch?
Elf for sure, as recently I’ve been loving stories I read about fae folk and all the magic and legends entwined in their world. I like including mythical creatures and spells in the stories I write.
Cookies or Fudge?
Again I’d like both, Posy is fuelled by my very sweet tooth! When I settle down to write I’m likely to have a cup of black coffee and a cookie near to hand.
