Pomegranate (Punica granatum L.) fruits are widely consumed and used as preventive and therapeutic agents since ancient times.

It has been used as a treatment for intestinal worms and parasites as far back as 1500 BC.
Pomegranates have always been highly valued for their flavour, but recent research on their emergence as a highly nutritious superfood, packed with antioxidant vitamins, has made them even more popular. The skin and the pith should normally NOT be eaten.
There are over 3000 Pub Med studies on this wonderful fruit that may indicate eating this fruit may protect us against modern-day killer diseases, cancer and cardiovascular diseases.
