Poetry: Who Am I?

Our Lifestyles Damage Our Sense of Selves

Who Am I? What do I love? What do I want? What do I settle for? Who do I settle for? What makes me happy? What makes me feel? What makes me real? What are my dreams? What are my flaws? What are my death wishes? What are my demands? What are my goals? What are my hopes? What do I care for? Who do I care for? What have I become?

Reflection

The better the questions you ask yourself, the better your life experience shall be. Wrapping ourselves up in life and getting to the point of go-go-go can damage our sense of selves.

Hold onto self-awareness; this gift will keep you sane, grounded, and present so that you can always know and remember who you are and who you desire to be.

Many people wake up, look in the mirror, and don’t even recognize who they are; they never stopped to take moments of self-reflection. Don’t procrastinate on knowing yourself — one of the most precious gifts you can provide to yourself.

Learn who you are now. Cherish who you are now. Love who you are now. Change things about yourself that don’t serve you and others well now. Change the direction for your life as needed. But you can only do these things if you engage in habitual self-reflection and self-awareness.

What questions are you asking yourself and pondering regularly?
