Poetry, A Sword of Words
A Poem
Poetry, a sword of words!
Sometimes clear sometimes broken
always used to discern, to cut through, to expose, to slice
between the biggest of things
the timeless and the temporary the sacred and the profane,
poetry tells us has always told us,
what is eternal - everlasting,
beyond time beyond space.
Time is a social construction, made up by humans to get to the train on time, after
waking up a cockroach. The only concern? How to get to work, how to work, how to keep working:
Fleeting, trivial, cog in the machine nonsense! The ultimate is beyond our experience!
We have to use language — it is all we have, and yet, it isn’t enough -
poetry is here to open up
the issues of the day the issues of the past
it is the real deal, Rhythmic,
words that go beyond the word -
to the essence the what-ness
of all that is, and sure, and yes: all that will always be -poetry is oracle, soothsayer, beggar and saint!
Heaven and poetry may be the same, expressions glimpsed briefly in timeless moments,
next to the god that is in each of us.
