Summary

The website presents a collection of three distinct yet thematically related Anti-Poems by Obsidian Eagle, each composed at different times and reflecting on reality, society, and the self.

Abstract

The "Poetic Triplets" article introduces a sequential series of three Anti-Poems, titled "Rhizomatous," "Asomatous," and "Anomalous," each crafted at intervals over several years. These poems explore various philosophical and societal themes, including the nature of reality, perception, and the roles individuals play within society. The poems challenge readers to question their beliefs and the labels imposed by society, suggesting that reality is co-authored by observers. The articles delve into the concept of a universal memory beyond spacetime and the idea that individuals are responsible for their perceived reality. The poems also touch on the themes of infamy and morality, using historical and mythical references to illustrate their points. The author encourages skepticism and self-reflection, urging readers to look beyond surface appearances and societal norms to understand the deeper truths of existence.

Opinions

  • The author believes that only the most perceptive individuals can discern the true nature of reality, which is characterized by an "Undivided among merely apparent multiplicity."
  • There is a critique of societal labels and norms, which are seen as arbitrary and influential in shaping societal evolution.
  • The poems suggest that individuals are not just passive observers but active co-authors of their reality, implying a level of personal responsibility for one's life experience.
  • The author expresses skepticism about logical assertions and encourages readers to doubt and recalibrate their understanding of the world.
  • The poems convey a sense of timelessness and the interconnectedness of all things, as seen in the references to a "Universal memory stretched beyond spacetime."
  • There is a subtle commentary on the nature of fame and infamy, particularly in the context of historical figures and their legacies.
  • The author seems to value the rarefied truth and the enlightenment that comes from within, criticizing those who act civilized yet lack true understanding.

Poetic Triplets

A Literary Trinity

Previously Obsidian Eagle presented dual dyads of verse (Poetic Twins; linked at the end). Today we’re going to continue on that sequential track by doing a three-for-one special!

Each Anti-Poem in the following triad was conceived many moons apart [dates provided] from the others in its lineage. And yet you might notice that they share some common family traits. The simplest example of this is their matching names. They are given here in proper chronological order:

1/3: Rhizomatous

The Eternal Moment is back!

New and improved as ever before

Relucent splendor blinds third eye

Dreams and daylight interchangeable

Parallel existence multiplies all around us

But only the most perceptive can see it

Undivided among merely apparent multiplicity

Magnificent Monad splintered in fractal infinity

Universal memory stretched beyond spacetime

Everything is obvious to those lit from within

Irrational only for uncouth cretins acting civil

Such minds are secondary to silent Will at work

Any mystic sage or skilled sophist knows

That rarefied Truth puts an onus on us observers

We are the coauthors of our assumed Reality

Heroes, rascals and zeroes: typecast actors

Arbitrary labels define how society evolves

Don’t fall for shadows playing on cave wall

Even believing your own story is suspect

Doubt logical assertions as illogical ones

Flip switches, push buttons, recalculate

Having plotted a course — cast off now

Drifting past present and future until

Reaching an ageless continent

Always living; constant instant!

2/3: Asomatous

~ Operand at the periphery ~

Like Don Giovanni’s opera

It gives rise to an epiphany:

Bridging wide gaps within

A rich binaural symphony.

So let the players sing and

Take you by both tympani.

Such scores are highly rated

Among the annals of infamy.

Donna Elvira love him not —

For he goes beyond polygamy:

Over two-thousand bodices

Removed in crass indecency!

Even statues spring to life

Moved through sheer indignity.

Audiences are often duped

By the libretto’s filigree;

Thinking it has something to do

With inborn nobility or pedigree.

The evanescent is nascent mid torment…

3/3: Anomalous

No nation can claim the Self-named

For none have proven worthy

Of the glory that they

Profess to possess.

Always been ahead of the pack

But nobody notices anymore

Because we aren’t in

A classical setting.

This conduit has been cleared

Though its purpose mightn’t

Be fulfilled in one lifetime;

Age of ignoramus runs fright’d.

Abominable Great Northern Yeti

Ought to recognize when his

Backyard thaws to become

Not unlike the Serengeti.

Three underscores trace progress:

  1. Atavists struggling to uphold.
  2. Iconoclasts tear down ye old.
  3. Hybrid strain of Power untold…
