PoArtMo Month Is Here!
Inviting you to celebrate uplifting and inspirational creativity throughout the month of June

As you probably know by now, I am the co-founder of Auroras & Blossoms.
A&B is an inclusive and family-friendly platform dedicated to inspiration and upliftment and based on the concept of PoArtMo (Positive Actions Rally Thoughts & Momentum).
PoArtMo runs throughout the year, especially in June. The movement is open to artists and non-artists ages 13 and over. If you believe in using your voice to inspire others and make their days brighter, we welcome you with open arms.
June Is PoArtMo Month!
June is PoArtMo Month. We invite you to join us for 30 days of uplifting creativity!
Here is several ways you can participate.
1. Contribute to Our PoArtMo Challenges on Medium
Check out rules here.
There will be a new PoArtMo Challenge every week for the duration of PoArtMo Month. We will announce our favorite submissions on our blog at the beginning of July.
NB: Only content submitted to Auroras & Blossoms or Promptly Written will be considered for our PoArtMo Challenges on Medium. You must use the proper hashtag (PoArtMo) and tag David (@toofulltowrite) and me (@cendrineartist) so we can see your work.)
2. Try Our New Poetry Form, the Hemingku
The Hemingku is a portmanteau word consisting of the following elements:
- “Heming”, taken from the famous writer “Ernest Hemingway”, who is known for his six word story prowess and writing a powerful story with a tiny amount of words; and
- “ku”, as in ‘haiku’.
The idea behind the Hemingku is to allow writers of all sorts (poets, prose / short story writers, novelists, etc.) to create a poem that tells an impactful and inspirational story with a very limited number of words.
The rules of the Hemingku are very simple. Your piece must contain between 7–10 words picked from two seemingly unrelated sources. The words can be spread across a maximum of 4 lines, and they should tell a complete story or scenario. Think of it as poetic prose!
A hemingku poem can have a title (which does not count towards the overall word count) and punctuation. No matter the topic covered, the tone must be uplifting or inspirational.
As with all our other poetry forms, you should credit and link to the inspirations behind your pieces.
NB: Prompt words do not equal source.

3. Submit to our annual PoArtMo Anthology for a chance to see your work featured alongside David’s and my own
We are looking for short stories, flash fiction, essays, drawings, paintings, photography, and digital art.
Please note that we no longer accept poetry for our anthology. David and I are poets ourselves. Further, in previous years, we always received a lot more poems than other artworks, which made it difficult for us to offer a balanced publication.
Selected contributors can opt to get a free PDF copy of the anthology as well as royalty payments.
We also celebrate writers between the ages of 13 and 16 with our PoArtMo Anthology: Youth Edition!
4. Use the #poartmo Hashtag on Twitter to share your work
Last But Not Least…
Only family-friendly, inspirational content is allowed. No swear words, politics, or erotica please!
David and I can’t wait to see what you create during PoArtMo Month!
Thank you for reading!
