Playing in the Snow
My earliest childhood memory — triggered by a TBIN prompt
Blue and nearly frozen solid, but happy as a 5-year-old can be.
I’m outside with my little friends in Syracuse New York building a snow fort.
Who knows if mittens or gloves were part of my outfit. Who cares?!
Our fort, big enough for us to crouch inside.
It’s roof sloped enough for a little behind to slide off of.
Mom is calling me for dinner.
“Just a minute, mom” I warble.
“Oh my god! You’ll catch pneumonia!” Mom says when I enter.
“Straight into a warm bath for you. Then it’s dinner time and right to bed.”
“We’ll see” I think.
