Pink Floyd
Pink Floyd is the G.O.A.T and a tether to my past.

According to billboard.com, Pink Floyd’s The Dark Side of the Moon (1973) spent 958 weeks on the chart! That’s a couple of blinks over 18 years!!! As no surprise, a quick Google search additionally reveals that it is one of the best-selling albums worldwide, with an estimated 45 million copies sold!
What makes this album so great? EVERYTHING! If you don’t know what I mean, just put on a pair of headphones, get comfortable, close your eyes, and listen to the album in its entirety, start to finish! Consider it guided meditation! Contrary to what you might have heard, marijuana is not a necessary component.
It’s an experience that is hard for me to explain. It’s like watching a movie of your existence in your imagination. If you’re seeking other forms of entertainment, you can sync this album to the Wizard of Oz for a completely different twist. It’s versatile like that!
The album The Wall (1979) is another amazing piece of work by Pink Floyd. Also best consumed through headphones and played from the beginning to the end. And as a bonus, check out the movie, The Wall, if you haven’t already! Some viewing options available here!
Of course, the songs can be played as standalone nuggets of listening pleasure. However, just listening to the individual tracks is like picking up a book and only reading the 5th chapter. This method is fine if you’ve already read the book and that chapter is your favorite! Otherwise, you’re missing out on a lot. The albums weave a complex, yet compelling story.
Pink Floyd wasn’t a one-hit-wonder. They had many great albums with music and lyrics that you can feel to the depth of your soul. The lyrics seem to morph into a relatable version of your life! Okay, maybe not for everyone, but certainly for me!
Simply put, I can listen to Pink Floyd and transport myself to a distant moment in time. There are nearly two decades where various memories are permanently attached to these riffs and lyrics. Some memories are exhilarating, while others are simply depressing. But, the music still speaks to my soul and reminds me of how far I’ve come through the years!
