POETRY | GRIEF | EXPERIENCES
Pink and Blue
A miscarriage is a dreadful experience that unleashes grief, guilt and regrets upon a woman
Dark red blood streams down, meets the sky blue tiles with a deafening silence.
A piece of me follows; ends on the same blue tiled floor, a pink blob with an off-white apparition just seeing the beginning of existence.
I pick up the little martyr... blink at the blob — a surreal moment of recognition.
Petrification saves me from crumbling down under the shower as I watch it sail to the drain.
Thunderbolt! To the drain?! I double up, choking in disbelief.
Back between the comfort of my pillow and my sleeping baby, I liquify.
The womb weeps.
Pain rains...
