I am Annelise Lords and I love to walk, it’s my therapy. During my walk, I am involved with nature and my surroundings. I search for hope, love, knowledge, wisdom, strength, positivity, understanding of life, living, and why humanity does the stuff they do, etc., through everything that I see.

I will be doing the Photography Column for Dancing Elephants Press which will be rolled on in January 2024.

These are some of what to look forward to.

They say a picture says a thousand words. I believe that pictures have healing powers, share hope, and send messages to us if and when we ask the universe to help us. I intend to go deep to stir your imagination forcing you to think about life and everything else I can ignite.

What Do You See When You Look At Me?

I had a decision to make and was about to make the wrong one. I walked and wrestled with my decision asking the universe for help. I almost tripped and fell. My head went down, then tilted backward, and as I looked up into the sky this image appeared.

I made the right decision. I call it an X for a Miracle.

Today I walked and was shocked to see this beautiful Red Hibiscus in the middle of all this greenery. It demands attention as it spreads out, as no other flowers of its kind are around.

I walked closer and snapped another picture. This bright Red Hibiscus isn’t afraid to grow, and shine, bringing joy and a smile. It doesn’t care if it's alone. It’s not afraid to be different and the only one sharing hope. It doesn’t worry about its surroundings. It has a job to do and it intends to do it’s best. Life sometimes pushes us into places where we are afraid to be different or be ourselves. We allow negative elements around us to dull our light and prevent us from sharing hope. Looking at this hibiscus, I will not be stopped.

When depression visits, it buries me in pain, taking my will, understanding, and whatever I need to function how I should. Sadness and hopelessness are a part of life. And it’s ok to be sad. The universe is watching, telling me, "You are not alone.”

When the sadness began to overwhelm me, I glanced around and I must smile.

Pictures help to create, preserve, and restart memories that bring happiness and sadness. Both are a part of life. I am also hoping to help you preserve and restart the happier ones. While creating positive and inspiring ones that uplift and motivate.
