This post aims to introduce an accomplished novelist and one of his books submitted to ILLUMINATION Book Chapters.
I started enjoying an interesting fiction piece submitted to ILLUMINATION Book Chapters by Simon Dillon.
Simon is a novelist and a writer for short stories on Medium. He is a film and book lover. I liked his analogy in describing himself on his Medium profile:
“If you cut me, I bleed celluloid and paper pulp”.
According to the author in his blog, the central idea — regarding opposite extreme authoritarian states being two sides of the same militant coin — the author thought would make an intriguing backdrop for a doomed romance. But he also wanted the novel to be a satire of both sides’ worst fears in the US culture wars.
Simon’s novel, Peaceful Quiet Lives, is informed by several classic novels whilst also being very much its own unique story. You can find five texts that were influential in some way in this blog post.
