Dear Reader,

I would like to thank Sharing Randomly for this writing prompt. The prompt asks writers to share a celebrity that they admire because of his/her actions. It can be an actor, artist, singer, influencer, literally anyone whom you consider famous. The questions that would be used to frame the article were:

What made you choose that person? Did they inspire you? How? What did the celebrity choose to do? Did you get motivated to do something similar? From where did you get to know the person? Did you see that person from a different perspective? What would you do if you had millions in the bank? What would you do if you were famous and somebody else’s role model?

Introduction

I chose to discuss Mr. Gary Sinise and how he has inspired me. My first exposure to Mr. Sinise was in the movie Forrest Gump where he played the role of Lieutenant Dan. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor. I believe his role and acting were first-rate in that film.

I know I am not alone in my admiration for Mr. Sinise. Among the awards he has won are a Primetime Emmy Award, a Tony Award, and four Screen Actor Guild Awards. Gary Sinise — Wikipedia

He founded the Lt Dan Band (named after his character in Forrest Gump). The band plays at military bases around the world. I have heard this band play and they were very good when I heard them. He has been such a huge supporter of the military and those members who were disabled. Gary Sinise — Wikipedia

Truman in the show Truman brought him recognition in 1995 when he won a Golden Globe. He won a Primetime Emmy Award for his portrayal of George Wallace in the film of the same name.

Questions that I did not answer in the article above:

What would you do if you had millions in the bank? What would you do if you were famous and somebody else’s role model?

Response: I don’t have millions in the bank and don’t know anyone personally that does. That said, I believe I would pay off all debt for myself and my family. I would buy 2 more homes, 1 in Minnesota and 1 in Arizona.

That is because my family lives there. My mom, dad, brother, and sisters and their families, and my daughter and her family all live there. My wife’s family (brothers and sister and their families) also live in Minnesota. I would also buy another home in Arizona (my son lives there with his family). It would be great to be closer in proximity to our relatives. I would also contribute a large amount to charity.

I am not famous, nor somebody else’s role model that I am aware of but if I were, I would try hard to live my life and share with them trying hard not to let them down.
