Paths in nature -part 4

A cousin of mine is a fan of photos of trails, routes, and ways through natural landscapes. Hence each time I have a nice view of one, I send him snapshots. I am now publishing small selections of photos that depict not only the trails themselves but also the landscapes that inspired the shots

(check out part 1 - part 2 - part 3 of the collection)

First, hiking in Canton Graubunden (Grisons in French, Grigioni in Italian, Grischun in Rumantsch which is Switzerland’s fourth official language) and in the Swiss National Park (the only national park in this country, right inside this canton):

Here’s one shot that does not show any path but was worth mentioning as we just passed the above photos taken in Canton Graubunden and the Swiss National Park.

Not exactly a walking path here, yet a worth-sharing photo of what they call the “little Swiss Grand Cannon”. This river is the Rhein, which after a few 10s of km within Switzerland become the limits of this country with Germany, and then between Germany and France until it vanishes in the Rhine–Meuse–Scheldt delta in the Netherlands. Photo by author Luciano Abriata.

Second, photos I took last winter during a snowshoe hike in Zermatt, Canton Valais (Wallis in German):

Among other surprises, this winter trail goes through a small cave. Photo by author Luciano Abriata.

Last, a forest that runs along the Mebre river, not far from home, shot in the late fall of 2020:

This is another path in the same forest, in the summer of 2021:

No biking here. We want to preserve the mulch for runners! Photo by author Luciano Abriata.
