“La Casa del Rock” puts over 45 thousand pieces collected in 40 years at the disposal of fans in a unique place in the Piacenza area, in Italy, where you can breathe the spirit of the music that has changed the world.
You can play Elton John’s pinball machine, try on Tom Petty’s hat, wear a Jimi Hendrix ring, play Sting’s bass, touch Steve Vai’s guitar, or plug into Jimmy Page’s amplifier (Led Zeppelin).
THE MAN
Mariano Freschi, in fact, has decided to open the doors of his home in San Giorgio Piacentino, a small Italian village, to make available to all fans or simply curious people a vast heritage that traces the history of rock:
from the amplifier by Keith Richards on King Crimson drums, from the harmonica used by Roger Daltrey in “Quadrophenia” to the system used by Paul Rodgers’ Free at the 1970 Isle of Wight Festival but also tens of thousands of photographs, posters, books, and magazines.
THE PLACE

All these objects form the foundations of a dream that Mariano Freschi has been cultivating for some time, a dream that moves to the rhythm of rock, or rather to create a real “House of Rock” to be able to give life to a unique place where you can breathe in every moment of the day the spirit of music that changed the world. He has declared:
“We want to talk to all fans, whether they are in their twenties or seventies, lovers of progressive, hard & heavy or one of the countless souls that make up the wonderful galaxy of rock”.
THE ACTIVITIES
The vast collection comprehends the “Rock on Stage” exhibition with over 400 historical objects including instruments, amplifiers, pedals, and effects that have been on the most prestigious international stages.
But there are also various memorabilia that belonged to the greatest stars of rock music and over 45 thousand pieces including photographs, posters, tour books, picture discs, books, and magazines that the Piacenza collector has collected over more than 40 years of boundless passion.
Mariano Freschi is also the founder of “Made in Rock”, a non-profit association that aims to promote and enhance rock music and the culture linked to this boundless musical world.
