For tonight’s derby of Italy in detail Kateryna Pavlenko, leader of the Go_A group, and Gaia will perform on the pitch, just before the kickoff whistle, singing John Lennon’s “Imagine” (Beatles and much more), in front of the teams on the pitch and the fans present in the stands of the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
“I thank the clubs for what they have done and are doing for the Ukrainian people and to promote peace”, declared the President of Lega Serie A Lorenzo Casini, “And thanks to Juventus and Inter for accepting the Lega’s proposal for Sunday evening. I thought of the song ‘Imagine’ because it is a universal text of hope, which today is also taught in schools to bring children closer to the values of peace, brotherhood, and tolerance. Music arrives where other forms of art fail to reach: we hope that this message of peace will reach the whole world, thus also recalling the fundamental principles of sport “.
“I want to thank the two artists, Gaia and Kateryna, for having enthusiastically accepted our invitation”, adds Casini, “Kateryna will come directly from Ukraine and we hope she will be able to stay in Italy for a while, also thanks to the hospitality offered by the Municipality of Milan, for which we are grateful to Mayor Sala and Councilor Sacchi. Finally, thanks to the President of the SIAE, Mogol, for joining the initiative immediately. We are happy that the children will also be able to return to the pitch, at the entrance of the teams, from today in some stadiums and, from the next day, I hope for all the matches “.
