Summary

The web content reflects on the deceptive simplicity of the external world and the importance of introspection to confront the unseen aspects of life, such as pain and fear, in order to live in harmony with oneself and the flow of life.

Abstract

The article titled "Outwardly Gaze" with the subsection "Soul’s Speak" delves into the philosophical contemplation of the seen versus the unseen world. It emphasizes the ease with which one can be consumed by the external, tangible realities while neglecting the internal, intangible experiences that shape our existence. The author suggests that true understanding and harmony come from looking inward, facing the discomfort of emotions like pain, grief, sadness, and fear, and surrendering to the unpredictable flow of life. This introspective journey is portrayed as more challenging yet more rewarding than the superficial engagement with the world around us. The piece also pays homage to writers who inspire the author, such as Dr. Preeti Singh and Leonard Tillerman, whose works resonate with the themes of living in harmony with life and understanding the fleeting nature of pure joy.

Opinions

  • The author believes that the external world can be misleading, as it often overshadows the internal struggles and emotions that are equally important.
  • There is an underlying opinion that society tends to focus on success stories while ignoring the accompanying pain, neglect, and suffering.
  • The author values the act of introspection and acknowledges the difficulty in confronting one's own pain and insecurities.
  • Surrendering to the flow of life and embracing the full spectrum of human emotions is presented as a key to personal growth and mental well-being.
  • The author expresses admiration for other Medium writers who articulate the complexities of life and the pursuit of harmony within it.

Looking at the world, infinitely

I forget that I, exist

I mix up the two so easily

I often fall into the trap of believing the seen

but there is a world of the unseen too

behind the success stories

the unsaid unseen stories of pain, neglect, and suffering remain

while the light is seen, in obvious ways

darkness hides in the crevices of smiles

or the dry moisture of countless eyes

getting lost in an external world

is easy, and requires no skill

but to go within

to go in,

will take all the will and stillness it takes

to sit with that pain, the grief, the sadness, the fear

will require me to surrender to the insecurity,

surrender to the flow of life!
