Out of Curiosity: 100 Follower Challenge

Because I’m not any different from any other desperate writer just starting out.

The glittering goal: 100 followers means something to us all.

Clap for me, guys! I’m dreaming big!

I haven’t been writing on Medium long, but I really enjoy this platform.

Why?

Well, primarily because it’s so easy to write on here. The writing application here is easy to use and to construct a beautiful blog post. I can jump right in without much preamble, which makes it easier for me to achieve my writing and daily word count goals. Plus, there are a lot of articles here that are helpful to someone like me — an aspiring writer, freelancer, and all-around big-time dreamer.

I found Medium sometime over the course of the past five years at my desk at work, looking for inspiration and finding productivity articles from the likes of Mark Manson and Darius Foroux. Between the two of them, I gained new perspectives into what it meant to be an online writer and freelancer. I created new goals for myself, one of those I’m working hard towards right now.

To that end, I want to try out the challenge I just ran across while looking through articles here: the 100 follower challenge.

Plenty of other writers on Medium have done the same thing, and they swear it’s worth our time. Writers like Sunayan Chakma, Alfride Crystani, and Chessestelle have over 1K followers or more. It has appeared to work for them, so why not try it for me?

SO, how does it work?

All you have to do to participate is:

  1. Comment and clap for this article.
  2. Comment, clap, and follow other commenters.
  3. Follow me, and I’ll follow you back.
  4. Follow back anyone else who follows you.
  5. Write your own article just like this to encourage and support other new writers.

Additionally, make sure you’re interacting with the articles you read. Clap and leave meaningful comments. Medium lets you clap 50x at most per comment and article, so why not max out everytime? It doesn’t cost you anything but a little time.

So far, I have found Medium to be one of the most supportive and productive arenas in the online writing world. Medium is more positive than any social media writing community I’ve found. Medium makes it easy to find an audience. Help continue this tradition by supporting the visibility of new writers.

Peace!
