Out of a Keen City in the Sky
Based on a Photo Prompt From MPP Social

A fantasy that comes full face Of gentled tides abundant place
A slivered moon reflects just so To stave off sadness, pique and woe
The fire breathes a dragon’s breath And angst now dies a martyrs death
For nothing can be held on high To tarnish hope in twilit sky
And jewels upon horizon gleam White coral thrown from depths be seen
With opal saturated through Displaying many subtle hues
White diamonds speak to majesty Relieves the soul of travesty
The pearl from inside mantled shell Iridescent mother felled
Surrounded by a gemmed sky woke Yet in the background it bespoke
Allow the land to fall away And stay among the stars foray
To follow them as night full falls Then brilliance only new recalled
Will then make this seem dull by far Exploding facets in each star
Yet but a pin pricked velvet drape That won’t let too much light escape
Or mar the gentled night foretold And promised one whose needs unfold
