Our Bones Matter
A poem about our bones for cancer research
Bones are a bitter foe, Pain and disease start to grow, A silent thief that steals one’s health, And leaves behind a trail of stealth.
The bones that once were sturdy and strong, Are now the battleground for a fight that’s long, The pain that throbs, the constant ache, It feels like an eternal earthquake.
But in the midst of the dark and dread, There’s a fire that burns, a hope that’s fed, A strength that comes from deep within, A courage that refuses to give in.
And though the journey is arduous, And the road ahead is often spontaneous, There’s a will that’s strong, a heart that’s brave, A spirit that knows no defeat nor grave.
Pain in bones may ache, But it cannot break the spirit’s high, For in the face of pain and strife, We find the power to live our life.
So let us rise above the fear and chronic pain, And let our spirits soar again, For though a disease may be a fearsome plight, Our souls burn with eternal light.
Note from the author
This is about my best friend who is suffering from secondary breast cancer that has spread to the bones. This cancer is dreadful but we are praying that the treatment keeps the cancer cells away from her organs. So, this is the reason why I am trying to raise money for Cancer Research. Check out the book below that is raising money for Cancer Research.
