Submission rules

Writers Daily shares articles about the topic of writing. Articles are accepted on anything related to writing. Try to find a way to talk about writing so that it helps another fellow writer whether it’s about your novel writing, article writing, fiction writing, short story writing, etc. Please take a look at what is already published to get an idea of what Writers Daily is about before submitting.

Submissions are accepted from Medium members only who write with experience in the topic of writing.

Articles self-published on your Medium profile are also accepted but not if they have been published in a publication. Newly written articles are accepted and submitted as a draft form to Writers Daily.

Please note: You must not delete an article and then republish it on your profile and then send it to us as that will be a violation of Medium’s rules.

Submission guidelines

Please read the Medium rules before submitting your article. Follow the Medium curation guidelines before you send your work here. Read the photo guidelines and the setting out guidelines there. You can use your own photos but if you do make sure you state it’s your photo underneath the image. Use Unsplash when you need a photo by clicking the plus sign in the space and clicking on the ‘add an image from Unsplash’ button to find an image. Read this article on how to access Unsplash photos within your draft. Be advised — if you do not add an image caption your photo will be changed to an Unsplash photo of our choosing!

For newly written work, always add your draft to this publication without publishing it on your profile first.

You must also follow this publication before being accepted.

Please also tag your article with ‘Writers Daily’ and also with one of the topics listed in the topic headings above our ‘Writers Daily page’. These are the topics we want to hear about where they are related to your writing experiences. They are: #socialmedia #writing #businessstrategy #publishing #creativewriting #books

Articles needed

Articles on writing only are accepted. It can be about authors and how they write, about words they use, and the success they have had with their writing. Anything that talks about writing and words. Up to 3000 per article and a minimum of 400 words are accepted. See the list of hashtags above for an idea of topics to write about.

Photos

All photos shared in this publication must be either free photos ie. from Unsplash photos that Medium uses in the draft of your article, or belong to the author’s collection. In other words, you must have permission to use the photo.

Being accepted

Once you have followed us and are accepted as a writer you will be added to this publication so you can submit your work to The Lark.

If you want to write for this publication then apply by emailing us at [email protected] with just your Medium profile link and the following statement:

“I want to write articles on writing for Writers Daily.”

You will be added to the writers’ list once your profile has been reviewed. Remember to follow us. Once you are added you can add your article to the publication after you have written it by clicking on the three dots above and clicking on add to publication and choosing ‘Writers Daily’. Once your story has been checked and read, and if it’s successful, it will be published.

Waiting time

Please allow up to one day — 24 hours — for articles to be published. Sometimes it will be significantly much less than a day.
