Summary

The text is a poignant reflection on the process of letting go of a loved one, finding solace in the beauty and serenity of nature as a means to cope with the loss.

Abstract

"One With Nature" is a deeply personal poem that explores the emotional journey of saying goodbye to someone deeply cherished. The author uses vivid imagery to convey their intimate connection with nature, drawing parallels between their own grief and the tranquility of the natural world. The poem speaks of a dance with the wind, a metaphor for the intertwining of life and death, as the narrator grapples with memories and the pain of parting. The serene elements of nature—a buzzing bee, a gusty breeze, a flower's aroma, a sky-gliding bird—serve as reminders of the departed's inner beauty and the peace that comes with acceptance. The act of releasing their loved one is likened to becoming one with nature, a final act of love and remembrance at a place significant to their relationship.

Opinions

  • The author finds comfort in the idea that their loved one becomes one with nature, suggesting a belief in continuity beyond death.
  • There is a sense of reluctance and the weight of emotional burden in the act of letting go, indicated by the mention of "tired old neurons" and "silver tears."
  • The poem reflects a personal struggle to find closure, with the author summoning courage to release their loved one to the elements.
  • Nature acts as a sanctuary and a source of solace, offering a quiet space for reflection and a means to reconnect with the essence of the departed.
  • The author's inability to speak the loved one's name signifies the depth of their loss and the profound impact of their grief.
  • The use of natural metaphors to describe the process of grieving and eventual acceptance implies a harmonious and almost spiritual view of the cycle of life and death.

One With Nature

It’s not easy to let you finally go.

I am dancing, in the cool wind — a breezy whisper in my ear. This is how you wanted it to be. Me one with nature, perked on a lonely rock outcrop, my company, my window, like a meerkat sentinel in nature’s stillness looking for answers.

Serenity, a feeling we belong here a buzzing bee in my ear a gusty breeze waltzing a flower’s sensuous aroma a bird sky gliding graciously a wispy cloud in a cyan-blue sky a reminder of your inner beauty.

I am a skulking shadow here and there, between somewhere and nowhere. Living in a grey world without you —

Memories, a smoky channel haunting me with dark whispers. I hear your voice in nature’s calmness. It’s creeping up my spine waking up long-forgotten images of me and you.

When it’s time, one with nature you said.

a tear in my eye as tired old neurons flicker. Reminding me of our happy times together. I can’t speak your name — my lips are sealed like a tomb.

It’s time… I dreaded this moment for a long time — I summoned the courage, it’s time to let you go, to let you dance in the wind. At our rock you said. The rock we first met, our beacon, our hope, our place to be one with nature.

It’s time,

You hover in the slight northerly breeze, a twirl of dust particles that once were you. A cloud that spread to wispy thick streaks. A cloud that slowly disappears in the distance.

You’re one with nature carried on a gusty breeze. It’s not easy, not easy — silver tears streak my cheeks, a flood of memories swirls like pinpoint fireflies in my brain,

One with nature. Here I am, letting you go, trying to make sense of it all in nature’s serenity.
