One thing I do when I’m fatigued

Napping is not only for babies

Yes, you read the title correctly. Of course, there are times in which we work hard and sometimes we get to our limits…but still have to thrive on. So what do I do?

I disconnect myself for a chance to take a siesta. It’s pretty easy for me to do so and I have noticed this technique and its benefits since I was in college. Who remembers the intensity of those school days?

If I had to do “all-nighters”, I would have a quick 15–30 minutes supercharge nap. I think I heard about this on a talk show and I tried it. I was astonished that it did work for me!

I think I still have an advantage because I know people who can only sleep in places where not even a single ray of light comes through or who just can’t take naps because of the ambiance but I recommend you try to do so!

The main benefits of taking a wonderful and well deserved naps are the following:

  • It reduces tiredness
  • It’s relaxing
  • It improves your performance
  • You have better memory

One piece of advice I would truly like to share is that if you are going to take a nap, do it fully. Concentrate on what you are about to do and let your body know you are going to relax and sleep. If you want to take a siesta but just keep on thinking about your pending activities, you are just losing time because you will not be mindful.

And if you’re like me, I only need to check the temperature. I hate it when it's too warm to sleep, I get angry. 😝So I only need to check out for cool spaces and be done!

This is what I do to recharge. I think it’s quick and effective and it really gives me more power to keep going. If you still feel kind of sleepy when the alarm goes off…stretch or do some jumping jacks and BAM! You’re ready to go.

I’m thankful that this practice does really easily help me but yet again, it sometimes can’t be for anyone. Learn more about your body and what you can do to help it.
