On a Hot Summer Evening In Istanbul, Cats and Dogs Wait For Treats
Six Word Photo Story Challenge: “Freestyle”
When do we get our treats?
We went for an evening walk tonight to get a snack and decided to go up some streets near where we are staying that we hadn’t been up before.
We were so thrilled with the tiny winding streets that had many stores and restaurants that we didn’t even know existed. Of course, it’s typical that we discover the best spots when we are about to leave.
We laughed when we came across this scene with numerous cats and a dog patiently waiting at the door to a butcher shop.
I’m sure they get treats often.
The stray animals in Istanbul are treated very well by the residents of the city. Many people go out of their way to make sure the animals are fed and watered each day.
There is also a city-wide government-sponsored vet service that will help ill or injured animals on-site. Apparently, they have a mobile vet ambulance that drives around to treat the animals.
Witnessing them being treated so well is a heartwarming thing to witness.
