Oh, the Wonders He Has Done

We must remember all of them

– 1 Chronicles 16:12

With the days getting darker earlier and even appearing gloomy, we must find a simple way to boost our spirits.

My daughter suffers from anxiety and depression, which is on the rise in many people due to our current affairs. Doesn’t it seem even more imperative to find ways to boost our spirits nowadays?

My daughter called the other day and asked if I would like to go shopping with her and my grandson for Christmas decorations. I said, “why, it’s not even Thanksgiving?”

She told me that the day after Halloween my grandson started telling her it was Christmas time. He’s only three years old but takes after me. He’s brilliant and he’s really into Christmas. Well okay, he’s brilliant but we both love Christmas!

I never miss the opportunity to spend time with my grandson, so off we went shopping.

Blissfully wandering

We enjoyed every isle thick with everything you could possibly imagine. Ornaments of every kind, cute stockings, magnificent lights, magical snow globes, and even the perfect silver tinsel tree!

We probably should have been more careful of germs, but we couldn’t help ourselves. We had to touch everything! It’s part of the shopping experience.

Our time together in a simple store was truly magical. The best part, my daughter's house is spotless and converted into a winter wonderland! Her spirits seem to have had a mystical makeover.

Music

Could playing Christmas music early hurt anyone? Music is a bad mood buster! It sets the tone. Why do you think church’s play music first thing when they begin their services? I know it’s to worship, but do you think it has anything with setting the mood? I do.

Here’s my favorite song, I hope you will enjoy a break with Tony and me:

So, if it’s too early for Christmas music is there another type of music that might help boost your spirits?

Conclusion

We must remember God is always with us even on gloomy days. He wants to lead us to brighter days. Couldn’t a few Christmas lights help even if it is a little early?

Time flies by, never miss the opportunity to spend time with others, even if it’s not exactly something you normally do. It could be the blissful wandering your soul desperately needs.

Our blissful wandering in a simple store boosted my moodiness and sent it on its way. Before we know it the holidays will be here but why wait? Couldn’t every day be Christmas in our minds? Happy holidays my friends.
