Oh, I Love Onions!

A Doggerel

Oh, I love onions! (But my wife does not) She refuses to kiss me While Dracula I am not* They invigorate me Making me strong Your tangy flavor Permeates My soul**

* I am fully aware that Dracula does not like garlic, but this is not about Dracula but onions!

** I do not want to hear anyone say that what the onion permeates is my breath, not my soul (And this is how a poet’s reputation goes down the drain. All because of a few onions and one doggerel!).

©Pablo Pereyra 2020. Thank you for reading and eating your veggies!

Thank you Lucy The Eggcademic (she/her)for hosting this poem.

(I am kind of confused about who started this prompt, to be honest. So my apologies if I am answering the wrong prompt. I am sleep deprived, and I should be writing SOAP notes, but Oh, boy, the temptation of eating onions got the best of me now!)
