Summary

The author expresses frustration with those who disregard COVID-19 safety measures but celebrates reaching a personal milestone by getting fully vaccinated, which provides a sense of protection despite ongoing risks.

Abstract

The article reflects the author's determination to stay healthy during the prolonged virus season, despite the challenges posed by individuals who refuse to follow safety protocols. The author takes a defiant stance against the "non-mask-wearing, non-social-distancing, non-thinking, anti-vaxxing idiot[s]" and takes pride in having received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Although the author plans to continue taking precautions, they acknowledge a sense of achievement in reaching a point where the risk of serious illness from COVID-19 is significantly reduced, thanks to the vaccine. This personal victory is tinged with irony and sarcasm, as it is achieved "in spite of" the actions of those who contribute to the spread of misinformation and disease.

Oh But First, F#@k You!

I’ll probably live in spite of your stupidity. That’s got to be some kind of milestone.

I was determined not to get sick this virus season, which turned out to last a year and counting.

No thanks to you, you non-mask-wearing, non-social-distancing, non-thinking, anti-vaxxing idiot.

I’ve dodged your willful ignorance bullets; and I’ve lived long enough to receive my 2nd vaccine dose. That momentous occasion happened a week ago. In one more week, I’ll be as bulletproof as one can be these days at least as far as COVID-19 danger is concerned.

I’ll continue to mask and distance because those are the thoughtful intelligent things to do.

You, you miserable dangerous fucks, can do as you will and I’ll definitely continue to dodge you. But, even if your inanity and insanity overwhelm my best defenses and you spread a preventable disease to me I probably won’t die or get seriously ill.

A milestone has been achieved.

No thanks to you 😆
