Ode to My Mom Sweater
A Poem

It’s okay if you notice I wear the same sweater every day
All day It’s a robe
It’s a jacket It’s a comfort and joy
Dark grey and long, so long, around my waist tied It matches everything -it blends, it supports
I am comfortable, semi-chic, and safe My mom sweater
Transitions from day to night, night to day Matching my reluctant leggings
In all honesty I would rather live In a robe
I would make a good Buddha, if this world Would let me
Meditating and at peace In my mom sweater
My mantra is soft cotton, my mantra is Soft hugs, my mantra is soft treading
On this earth, with these hearts, Compassion and mom fashion
Spirituality, a snuggle Sacredness, a long scarf
My mom sweater, My heart on my sleeve
I hold on with one hand and let go with the other Flowing
