Ode to My Dishwasher
A piece of gratitude, a poem

To my dearest dishwasher, I am grateful, so grateful for your nightly dedication to presenting me with glistening dishes, welcoming me into a bright new day each morning with a sparkling clean new plate.
Your rumble and grumble keeps me writing in the flow, the Goldilocks just right amount of background noise just to keep me in the writing groove.
Oh what would I do if you did not exist?
Would I weep? Would I cry? Would I mourn your parting?
For you, I write these words as you have my true faithful love and appreciation as one of the most important kitchen appliances in my life, in my heart.
Poetry Prompt
Write about something, someone you truly appreciate. Don’t be shy to share them your piece, to let them know how truly important you are to them.
If you’re comfortable, share it with 🧠 The Brain is a Noodle🍜 (an factually inaccurate and oddly named publication)!
Lucy (The Egg Girl) does in fact weep on the inside because she does not currently own a dishwasher. She has a tiny kitchenette in her one-bedroom apartment and she washes all of her dishes by hand. She writes this poem from the sole memory of her past dishwasher, which she shared with her 3 other roommates. She works hard so that one day she can afford a place with her favourite piece of kitchen appliance.
What’s your next adventure? 🐰🌌
