NEW PUBLICATION ALERT!
Now Writers Have No Reason Not to START Submitting Stories!
Have you seen all the stories I just published based on a new publication format?

Now that I’ve written a total of ten very helpful stories, to demonstrate a new publication format, writers should have no reason at all, for not submitting their stories.
This is not about the Daily Justiss publication that you’re currently reading from.
The publication I wrote all ten stories for was my newly activated pub called Just Like New. The pub is not really new, but the structure and guidelines are.
During the past week, I shared a story about the call for submissions, and later, I wrote and published what I thought were the simple new guidelines for the publication.
Well, turns out I was wrong.
Even though I had positive results and several writers have already signed on to submit stories, at least two individuals weren’t clear on the details.
If there were others, I didn’t see their comments, because it doesn’t matter. Two were enough to make me want to provide clarification.
Only it didn’t stop at that…
While I was more than happy (and willing) to write something that would help, I must admit, it sent me on an obsessive writing spree (which I write about in one of the ten stories I published).
And therein, lies the main reason that I try to avoid reading comments. Like everything else, I tend to take things too far.
Here’s what happened…
The beginning of my obsessive, compulsive day
The start of my writing day (yesterday) began with me doing something I honestly try to avoid doing. That’s reading Responses and feeling compelled to answer back.
It’s not that I don’t like hearing from readers, and knowing they appreciate what I write.
It’s just that I have some faults that I’m totally aware of, and having thin skin is one of them.
In the past, before I stopped replying to EVERY SINGLE comment, I used to do all I could to reply to the people who responded to my writing.
But negative, distasteful, or discouraging comments weren’t the only reason I gave that practice up.
The other reason was:
Realistically, it’s just too darn hard trying to keep up and reply to all the responses, no matter how much you may want to.
Well anyway, I started by creating a short story titled: News Reports WARN about Rise in Depression During Holiday Season
This first little 3-minute story was supposed to be a basic model and a good way to demonstrate the appeal of the publication’s new structure. Now, to let writers know that the model exists.
So, the next thing I did, was publish what was supposed to be another short story, in order to reply to the writers who weren’t clear about the original details. This story was: Here’s the BEST Way to Use and Benefit from Just Like New! In it, I shared a link to the model story mentioned above.
The second story ended up being an in-depth explanation that is hopefully, easier to comprehend, even though it’s 5-minutes long.
I didn’t fret over the length, since technically this second story could be considered as “publication guidelines”.
But it didn’t stop there either…
The “basic model” story that I wrote, would have actually served the purpose, however, OBSESSIVE ME wasn’t satisfied.
I wanted to demonstrate a model story that didn’t appear to take too much effort to create. After all, I want the writers to be more focused on their “main” story which was previously published.
So, naturally I created a third story — one that I was sure writers could use as a good example of the publication requirements.
That story was titled: FIRST Female Mayor of Los Angeles: Hail the Conquering She-ro!
Well, of course by then, I’m on a roll, and the compulsion to keep writing and publishing stories has begun to kick in.
Before it was all over I had also written and published the following short form stories, all in compliance with my 3 minutes or less word count requirement.
- Are You a Fan of Listening to Music on YouTube?
- How to Keep Promoting the Stories that Benefit and EARN You the Most!
- Why Don’t More People on Medium Like to Read about Things in the NEWS?
- How to Be a More Consistent and Productive Writer in 2023!
- Is it Okay to TALK About Being Successful if You’re Not Really a Success?
- Don’t Settle For Just ONE Way to Promote the Stories You Write!
- My Productivity is My OBSESSION!
All ten of the stories (minus the one designated as publication guidelines) are a perfect demonstration of how you can use Just Like New to promote previously published stories.
These 9 new short form stories will now illuminate 9 formerly published stories, and hopefully help them gain more reads.
Final Thoughts
I hope writers will be clear about submitting their stories, and don’t hesitate to sign up for the publication.
After reading about all the effort I put into making this publication a better resource for promoting former stories, I believe the benefits that the publication can offer is becoming much more clear.
A big thanks to those ladies who gave me the heads up, even if you did send me down a rabbit hole of my own making :-)
As it stands, I’m still working on getting the “section designations” organized on the front page, but the layout of things is really starting to come together.
So be sure to check out the look and appeal of the all new Just Like New publication.
