The first group of readers I want to address and say thanks to, are these four individuals. The story the following readers responded to is: Welcome New Writers and Please Excuse the Mess!

The readers are:

Scot stated: “…I think I am going to try to just focus on writing and try to stay out of all the discontent but this might be a lot harder than it seems, huh?”

In answer to your question Scot: I believe it can be easy to steer clear of negativity and discontent, as long as you retrain your brain to resist the urge to click 😄

The next story that many readers felt passionate about and shared their views, was the story: The Environment Around Here is Getting TOXIC as Hell!

The readers who left thought provoking comments included:

Susan Wheelock commented again (Thanks for responding to the survey Susan. I appreciate you girl 😄

I sincerely respect and appreciate all the comments, and each writer had noteworthy viewpoints about various aspects of the story.

I especially want to thank this young lady by the name of Purbita Chakraborty and to also let her know that I’m sorry for the ugly and disrespectful way she was treated. Without even knowing the full situation, I can find no justification for hurtful name calling, as she describes in her comment:

One final story that dealt with the temperature here on Medium, as it relates to my productivity, was my story: 6 Month BURNOUT: 440 Stories Later and Still Struggling for Reads!

As it now stands, this is my highest earning story, having gained me $24. 61 since I published it November 1st (2021).

I already knew that readers enjoy hearing about a writer’s journey on Medium, in hopes of gleaning something useful for their own travels.

While I hoped the story would do well, I honestly didn’t think it would take off like it’s doing. I’m sure the screen shots and the total transparency about stats, views, and money, all help with the story’s popularity.

Anyway, since there are currently 44 comments on the story, I’ll have to give a blanket THANK YOU to those who left feedback, if I haven’t already responded to you.

Thank you, for both reading, and responding, because ALL of you have helped to add to the story’s success.

A special mention goes to Sally Prag for your kind words (Thanks girl. I don’t know who else to be, everyone else is taken 😄 Amanda Stacks | Janice Eastman | Thanks Cee ArrI like your attitude | Hey Maria Rattray I don’t know if those are the only two possible reasons. Stop doubting yourself girl and blame it on the algorithm like the rest of us 😄 Deb Fiore and Siobhan Champion | KL Simmons | Marcie Wilmot | Silvia Wild | Hey Neera Handa Dr Don’t worry, we’re ALL just small fries in this Medium bag of writers 😄 Melinda Van FleetThanks for pointing out the tips that you enjoyed. You’re right also, about the story doing well, and it’s all because of followers like you 😄 Hey Shemaine Lozano Hernandez — Your name is similar to my first name (my birth name). You have a lot of courage for stepping out on faith like that, now you have to own it girl! Just write, write, and write some more. You got this! 😄 Alvin Tan — That’s an interesting idea Alvin, but I don’t know how readers would feel about ads on the site. | Thank you Brittney A Baron and Chris Freyler because you appreciate the honest way I tried to assess my journey, instead of glossing everything over. Sometimes readers just like to have their ears tickled, and not get the truth. 😄

Okay folks, I have to wrap things up here.

I know there were lots more comments left for me over the past few days, and they relate to a lot of other stories. But as was mentioned, at some point, all of us writers have to accept that we can only do our best, and leave it at that.

If I overlooked anyone, believe me, it wasn’t intentional. So until the next time, keep reading, keep following, keep commenting, and keep coming back.
