New Year’s Resolutions: For My Health

Sort of in response to Coffee Challenge: Why I want to be a better me in 2022

Photo by Michael Fousert on Unsplash

My first reaction to this prompt is: “Great! I want to write about it.”

My next reaction to the prompt is: “Oh, no, I have never received 1000 claps.”

My following reaction: “Hey, I can still write about it. About my new year’s resolution for my health.”

These are what I’m going to do.

1) Recording my walking exercises

I’ve decided to keep a 30-day walking record for January.

Yes, for now.

I did a 7-day → here.

While I was checking my smartphone today, before and after my walking exercise, I thought it might be a good idea to do a 30-day challenge.

It will keep me motivated to do my walking exercises. And if I share it on this platform, it may pique someone’s interest to do the same.

I used to aim for 10,000 steps a day.

But the current version of me won’t aim that much.

I’m going to aim for 5000 steps when I do my walking exercise.

So starting in January, I will do it. I’m not sure if I would do it the whole year. So I’m going to aim for it during the first month of 2022. And see how it goes.

2) Wait for an hour to enjoy my first cup of coffee

I guess it’s about the third time I’m talking about it in my article this year. But I want to say, I will continue to wait for an hour, at least, to have the first cup of my coffee after waking up in the morning.

And try not to have a mug cup of coffee in the evening. I’ll let myself have a small amount of coffee when I want to, especially after having pasta, to reward myself, and to enjoy a small dessert having coffee in it or a dessert has to go with a cup of coffee.

3) Avoid staying up late, and get done with what you want to do

I had eliminated one big cause of making me stay up late without making any positive emotional return. So I can do it.

I should focus more on doing what I really want to do. Even if it happens to make me stay up late once in a while, it’s different. The completion of one thing makes me feel fulfilled.

I should focus more on it. Should I say my dreams?

I may need another “think outside of a box.” I may need to jump into a new challenge, collaborating with others next year. I don’t know yet.

But I need to keep in mind to have this mindset.

So these are my health-related new year’s resolutions

  1. Recording my walking exercises
  2. Wait for an hour to enjoy my first cup of coffee
  3. Avoid staying up late

It all comes down to my health and what I need, and what I want to do.

Stay tuned for what I want to do. I’ll write up in a few days.

Thanks for reading!

And thanks to Winston for providing writers with a prompt.
