It’s a new year! I’m excited to share these 7simple ideas to help take your small business to the next level.

These are smallish, actionable ideas that can add more revenue, get more traffic, and/or bring you in more customers.

I’ll even share the ones I’m personally doing!

7 Simple Business Ideas to Try for Your Biz

Ok, here we go…

1. Add a newsletter

I didn’t do this for a long time with my blog. It’s really easy to execute. And, you can even run multiple automated newsletters, which is perfect for selling various products.

For example, for my business, I have a general newsletter and an automated one for digital marketing.

This year I plan on setting up automated newsletters for my faceless TikTok obsession, website flipping, and other subniches I operate in!

  • Use Systeme or another newsletter provider
  • Set up funnels/automations and you’re done!

2. Add a new social channel

Setting up a new social channel is a way for you to drive more traffic to your business and website.

Some examples:

  • TikTok
  • YouTube
  • Flipboard

I recently set up a second Pinterest account for my blog, Millennial Nextdoor.

3. Post more on LinkedIn

Something super simple. Get on LinkedIn, if you’re not already there and start posting!

  • Share helpful tips and advice
  • Talk about successes and failures you’re going through with your business
  • Announce staffing opportunities
  • Host contests and giveaways

4. Start a Facebook group

People love a good community. Create a group where your supporters, fans and followers have a place to interact with each other.

I started a Pinterest-based Facebook group several years back and it grew to 5,000+ people!

5. Make your website faster

A faster website improves user experience and it can help with SEO too. Conduct a website speed test then, optimize.

I checked mine with Pingdom.

Pingdom

If your site is on WordPress, there are plugins that can help with site speed.

My results:

Pingdom

Ouch!

The last time I ran one of these tests, my speed wasn’t too bad, around B rating or so.

Time to go back to the drawing board, haha.

6. Attend or host virtual events

Put yourself out there, build your reputation online and get into online events.

For example, I’ve been in the Ultimate Bundles event a few times.

I’ve been invited to join and host virtual summits, too.

This is a great opportunity to further put yourself on the map!

7. Write on Medium

If you’re not already doing this, start! You can write about your business or write about your audience’s painpoints and refer your business.

I do this!

Medium helps me earn a full-time income from a combination of:

  • The Medium Partner Program
  • Affiliate referrals
  • Digital product sales
  • Consulting and services I sell

There you go!

What do you think?

Have you tried any of these ideas? Would you?

What are some things you’re doing differently for your business this year?
