New Writers, Take Part In This Powerful 10-Day Shortform Challenge This November
Yes, it’s possible to boost your success on Medium

Willpower is finite. Motivation comes and goes. Inspiration can strike when you least expect it and leave you high and dry when you need it the most.
So whatever you call it — motivation, willpower, inspiration, your “muse” — you need to regularly nourish and replenish your supply. Mark Manson
Are you familiar with the “Do Something” Principle?
It helps novice writers to get the ball rolling.
You focus on starting, and that’s it.
Some call me ‘Medium Muse’ and I’m here to help you get started to boost your success on Medium.
Do you know what you need?
A writing challenge!
To be more specific:
A 10-Day Shortform Challenge by a pub that welcomes new writers!
7 Reasons For Signing Up For A 10-Day Writing Challenge this November
Writing challenges are popular in the writing community — especially this month, November 2021.
- It’s the Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) my friend and journalist James Garside is participating in.
- Zulie Rane invited the community to write 30 pieces this month.
- I launched my first ‘Online Writing Kickstarter Bootcamp’ where we hit publish on a regular basis and improve our craft.
- Niharikaa Kaur Sodhi started her first pilot called ‘Summit21’ to establish a (daily) writing habit.
Well, there’s a little something for everybody, isn’t it?
Let me give you 7 powerful reasons to participate in a writing challenge this month:
- You meet nice and encouraging people — The writing communities who participate in challenges are uplifting each other and keeping each other accountable to persist throughout the challenge.
- Nobody “wins” and nobody “loses” — The only person you compete against is yourself. If you don’t reach your goals? It’s okay. You’ll still have some great content and data points to work with at the end.
- Practice makes perfect — Did you know that according to science experienced writers use more of their brains than novice writers?
- Kick your muse into high gear — Writing challenges can allow you to explore new ways of writing and to think outside the box.
- Build a writing habit — After the writing challenge is before the challenge. You’ll be more ready than ever to build writing into your life all year long and make writing a priority.
- It’s not a job or a heavy burden. — It’s for fun rather than being competitive. Some challenges can even get you in a playful writing mood and flow state.
- It’s rewarding — You will feel like a brand-new person after you’ve finished that first draft or the whole challenge. When you write, you’re a writer! That’s something to be proud of.
