400 Short Form Articles In One Month?

The crazy Writing Challenge of a smart and successful writer

Woman photo created by wayhomestudio

A short-form post can be just as good as a long one. If you understand this simple rule, you’ll go crazy over its use.

I’m a Top Writer in #Short Story and I write at least one short form post per day — but even I couldn’t believe what I read yesterday!

Fellow writer Edina Abena Jackson (2.9K Followers) is in the process of writing 400 short-form articles this month.

Crazy writing challenge, isn’t it?

As I said, if you understand this powerful tool you’ll go crazy over its use too.

She has to write around 13 posts per day

This is Edina:

In my opinion, Edina is funny, bold, nice, but not crazy!

👉 She’s smart!

If Edina writes 400 posts this month, this means she writes around 13 articles per day.

Let’s say she needs around 30 minutes to craft a 150-word piece…

quick math:

this means she spends 390 minutes per day or 12K minutes this month (October has 31 days) on writing.

Here you can see how she implements it:

She schedules her content in order to self-publish her articles several times per day.

Edina has a business, which essentially is her full-time job, and her son is homeschooled.

She portions her time by batch creating.

Two days in the week, I write a ton of content. Most weeks I crank out 60,000 words, says Edina.

Hint: Keep in mind, the more you create content, the easier it will be to produce more content! Maybe she becomes a quicker writer and can hit publish already after 15 minutes.

She’s about to become a data-driven writer

We’re all blank slates. Our daily habits shape who we are as human beings.

Within 10 months, I’ve published around 310 stories — around 200 of them as short-form pieces.

From a marketing perspective, every single piece of content is a data point.

400 stories help her to…

  • experiment with different headlines
  • experiment with different (niche) topics
  • listen to the data on her ‘Stats Page’ — they are telling her what’s working and what’s not working.
  • write clear, to-the-point posts which keep the reader’s attention
  • shape her voice
  • find mental clarity
  • become a Top Writer in the categories she’s writing about
  • grow her audience
  • feed the algorithm with content, and get rewarded with views.

👉 Her 400 Stories Writing Challenge helps her to become a better writer.

Final Takeaways

Do you see my point?

We’re all blank slates. Our daily habits shape who we are as human beings.

👉Edina is not crazy. She is smart as hell!

I think Edina loves challenges and the craft of writing itself. It’s not about the end result. It’s about the process.

It’s about learning something new every day and connecting the data points to an insightful picture.

Moreover, every single short form post could be the beginning of a long form post.

When she knows which topics are relevant, she can create more of them in the future.
