New Era of Greedy Capitalism: Companies Owe You Nothing

Stop being a victim and play harder.

Just last night I posted my article on how we average citizens in hyper-capitalist countries can’t focus on life itself because we always need to improve, be more productive, and always do more.

It isn’t enough how much citizens especially in North America and other hyper-capitalist countries do.

Most of us want to make a decent income and go home and spend time with families, or focus on our hobbies, not to have a second or third job, gig, or hustle.

Today, the morning I read this story

about why companies or platforms don’t owe you anything and in summary:

Companies will exploit AI and replace humans with robots, leaving them as mere collateral damage in the march to profits.

You see, companies don’t need to be loyal; they are only concerned with their bottom line.

Observe the process unfolding before you: people ( us writers) are now becoming victims of their own devices.

So, we are the victims, the suckers, and companies have bills to pay.

My blood boils as I read the article. The author claims companies owe us nothing from their point-of-view, that workers don’t need to get paid — a blatant lie.

In reality, it’s the workers and writers who keep the company profitable, while the CEOs and shareholders hoard the profits for themselves.

They’ll stop at nothing to squeeze every last cent out of those beneath them, no matter the cost to those doing the work.

Look around you why do you think especially in America people are suicidal, opioid addictions are the highest, and mental health is in crisis?

Because people are burned out from working 2 or 3 jobs, and having side hustles.

And it is still not enough.

Also, Tom Handy concludes:

5 Things You Must Do

1. you need to do more

2. you need to add another stream of income

3. you need to change your habits and spend less, so you have more money to spend or invest

4. be more creative with your output to gain more followers

5. this won’t be a one-time thing; the economy could get worse and not get better for years so continue to follow this process

How can anyone work more when they are already exhausted and depleted?

We aren’t robots.

Why don’t companies face consequences for their profits, no matter how large they get?

Why is this tolerated and allowed to go unchecked?

The most disheartening part of this article was the confirmation of its opinion by readers who voiced their approval with an enthusiastic “Yes, we should do more!”

As I read the article, my heart sank. It is as if the world has completely given up on humanity and has embraced the idea that companies owe us nothing.

It was the beginning of a new era of greedy capitalism, where the rich got richer, and the poor got poorer.

Now, it is a world where profits matter more than people.

I couldn’t help but feel angry at the injustice of it all. How could companies just replace us with robots or take it all, and not feel any guilt or remorse?

What happened to the value of human life and the contributions of hardworking individuals?

And it wasn’t just the writers who were affected. It is every working-class individual who is being squeezed to the last drop.

The sad truth is that companies only care about their profits and nothing else. They would go to any extent to increase their bottom line.

It is a hard pill to swallow, but we have to understand that we are just pawns in the game of capitalism.

This is our modern era, progress as they call it.

Well, I refuse to be part of it.
