PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE

Nature Is The Event

First Week of September

It’s a great event to get outside and enjoy nature. -K.Armstrong

This week we had 7 tornadoes in the area and flooding that broke 100-year-old records. I decided to focus on the beauty that persisted!

Day 1

The cover photo made me think about how event decor is nature-inspired —from flowers and lighting to the string o’ flowers below. Many event decorations capture what nature provides naturally season by season.

At this time of year in Pennsylvania, vines rule! They take over. It is a good thing we have a cold season so that everything can reset. If not, every living thing would be down like the loser in a wrestling match —no competition for the vines.

Day 2

While walking in my neighborhood the flowers and then the vine with heart-shaped leaves caught my eyes like vendors at a trade show. I found myself zig-zagging back and forth across the street to get a closer look at each display.

Day 3

A pop of color at the park! Celebrating and savoring the season.

Day 4

These photos were taken over a few days. I first thought this looked like nature’s fireworks. The sunset elevated and enhanced it.

One day I drove by and admired. The next day I slowed down and took a picture from my window. (Sorry to the guy behind me that seemed confused as I waved him by.) And, then another day, when I parked, I walked over to feel it and see it more closely.

Day 5

Nature designed the shape of a trailing bridal bouquet and inspired the fuzzy sprigs often inserted in flower arrangements. I’ve seen something like this in homes and in event flowers, but today I saw it for the first time in nature.

Day 6

Time for an ultrasound — new life on the way! Baby shower?

Day 7

Nature hosted a comedy skit. I found this little wooden man by my front door. I put him in my flower pot to “water” the flowers. (Sorry if you don’t see a wooden man here, maybe it’s just me.)

Thanks for reading! I hope everyone takes the time to attend nature-hosted events every day.
