I never thought this would happen
You may not believe this, but I am a timid guy, and I never thought I would be making this sort of announcement when I joined Medium back in July/August of 2021.
I was introduced to Medium through writers Shelby Church and Zulie Rane, and it was Zulie in particular that convinced me that attempting to write is at least worth a shot.
Shelby is an influencer on YouTube, and Zulie is an influencer on many platforms; I am sure that a vast majority of you have also joined Medium because of Zulie’s influence.
Friends of Mine Nikki Waterson and Carrie launched YouTube channels themselves, and I thought this was another great way to connect to your audience.
Another friend Kristina God is the one that got me thinking of appearing on camera when she asked me to make a private video for her “Kickstarter Boot Camp” training.
I decided to give it a go with trepidation, thinking that I could permanently delete the files and move on if it did not work. But of course, it was a complete mess, and with over three hours of filming, I decided to quit.
Now, that is where the problems started; my wife wanted to look at what I had filmed. Within minutes, she practically rolled around the floor in stitches of laughter.
Now that was not the type of behaviour that would boost my already shattered confidence, but at least she had a point; there was at least plenty of content for a bloopers video, if nothing else.
So, I decided to check out how I would start a YouTube channel. It did not look too complicated, and I began to fill out the relevant details.
I then went on to make videos number two and three, and this is where I am right now, three videos and three bloopers to compliment them….or not!
