I Write To Encourage, Enlighten, And Entertain

The founder of the greatest publication on Medium, Dr Mehmet Yildiz, asked if we the family members of the said publication would share our top ten stories. Well, seeing that I’m never one to shy away from an opportunity to help others help themselves, I had to participate. So, without further ado, here are ten of my stories, along with a brief description as to why they were selected.

1. This story is a detailed account of how I would realize what it takes to live dreams, notice dream is plural. Not saying that what helped me will help you but if it helped me, isn’t it worth reading to see if it could do the same for you? Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: The next day I showed up at the company, which was forty-five minutes away from where I lived at the time. Before I entered the place in question, I said these words aloud: “I don’t know what it is I’m going to be doing but whatever it is, I’m going to do it to the best of my ability. My primary objective is to become a full-time employee at this company, and I’m not going to do anything that’s going to stop me from accomplishing my goal.”

2. My all-time favorite short story, and for good reason. It reveals the three E’s (encouragement, enlightenment, and entertainment) that make up the “what” I write to my “why” I write, perfectly. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: … The funny thing about this, out of all my years of doing this…no one has ever wished for the ability to make better decisions. It’s always wishing that is only going to make their situations worse.”

3. The feeling of holding something that once resided in your mind in your hands is a feeling that can’t be described, it has to be experienced. In this piece, I speak about how to manifest a dream, and, I offer visual proof of my claim, seeing that we live in a “Show Me What You’re Saying” type society. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: Why do you think dreams come to us? Dreams are signs of things we can look forward to, notice I used the word “forward.” Our dreams are not where we are, they’re where we’re supposed to be.

4. When negativity seems to be the norm, something drastic has to be done to balance things out. It was time for some actions and this piece sparked the flame, that would grow into a wildfire. Not only was it felt on Medium and in ILLUMINATION, but on other social media outlets as well. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: The Universe will not be mocked, nor will it honor dishonesty of a desire. When we ask for something aloud, and there’s sincerity involved, this is phase one of the process. Phase two is that there has to be sincerity in our efforts, remember, “faith without works is dead.” When we do our part, the Universe will do the rest.

5. The purpose is not passion but when we realize why we really exist, we’ll go about trying to fulfill it with a relentless passion. Here I discuss how we’ll understand when we’ve discovered our purpose. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: The last line of what I believe the purpose is all about is the most telling sign that we have realized ours. God is Love. Sharing a portion of His spirit with us is how He showed us Love, and He expects us to show our gratitude by showing each other Love. Dedicating moments of our time to ensuring others will appreciate theirs that much more, is the ultimate display of Love. Because like life, when time is gone, it’s never coming back.

6. For me, other people’s perspectives are like answers to questions I need to be answered, as well as questions I need to offer answers. Here I share why having an open mind is better than having a closed one. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: Without an open mind, we’ll never honestly know if what we believe to be true, is in fact true. We need perspectives to weigh up against our conclusions, well at least I do. I love hearing other people’s perspectives on matters that matter most to me because this allows me the most significant opportunity, to reach a proper understanding.

7. Inspirational quotes have always fascinated me. It never ceases to amaze me how someone’s opinion can change my entire way of doing what I once did, such power to influence is mighty indeed. I became so obsessed with the quotes of others that it inspired me to start creating my own, and this addiction would lead me to self-publishing my first book, Positive Energy 24/7. I share here fifty (50) of the countless quotes I have created. Here’s one of my all-time favorite quotes and from this thought-provoking piece: 8. Our desire must be greater than our circumstance, our circumstance must feed our desire.

8. Monday is disliked by so many people and because of this fact, the path of opportunity is made that less crowded. Here I show in a creative display of dialogue why the following of trends can be very costly. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this thought-provoking piece: Monday: “Don’t you at least want to hear what I have to offer before you make such a hasty decision?”

Lower Self: You’re Monday, what good could you possibly have to offer?”

9. Is love, at first sight, real or a mere illusion? In this attention-holding piece, I put the question to the test. Here’s one of my favorite parts to this cleverly written piece: So, she took the initiative and pulled up a chair,

I gave her a glance, far from a stare.

10. Generational racism has been a problem in America for well over four hundred (400) years, that’s too long of a time for something so awful to have ruled this country. Here I speak about not only the said problem but more importantly, what I believe is the primary solution as well. Here’s one of my favorite parts from this must-read piece: The fire that burns within so many and due to the blatant murders of Ahmaud Arbery, and now George Floyd, has been burning within me ever since the moment I saw the movie Roots. Said fire once burned out of control because once upon a time in America, I didn’t have control of my own mind.

And there you have it, ten (10) of my stories. I purposely left the word “favorite” out of the description because everything I write is my favorite, each piece is a child conceived in my mind and delivered, via my heart.
