My tips to grow your Medium Followers FAST: these helped me go from 100 to 500 in just 9 days

Hello there, dear fellow writers and aspiring content creators! Well, I started on Medium.com back in October 2022. Eager to expand my readership and cultivate a loyal audience, I devoted myself to consistent writing in various areas such as writing tips, self-development, finance and growth tips, cryptocurrency insights, marketing strategies and best practices, talent acquisition tips, pedagogy strategies, and broader discussions on life and health tied to financial independence and effective managerial skills.

Despite my persistent efforts, the initial phase was challenging. For over 14 months, my progress remained stagnant; it was marked by a mere two followers and a complete absence of email subscribers. However, determined to make my mark on the platform, I followed two simple yet immensely rewarding strategies to go from 2 lonely followers to 100 followers in just 10 days, and then from there, the numbers kept racing pretty fast to reach 500 followers within the span of just 9 days.

As I highlighted in this story above, I consistently continued with those two strategies: follow-to-be-followed and interactions with other members. Since I’ve already thoroughly explained these two strategies, I will not bore you again with the details.

My formula to reach 500 followers in less than 9 days:

Interestingly, my journey to achieving this milestone involved a shift in tactics that defied conventional strategies common on other social media platforms. I opted to pause publishing new content momentarily, solely to put this strategy to the test, namely, follow-to-be-followed and active engagement with other members. What I, however, did differently this time was to follow writers from my niche instead of following random writers who might follow you back but never interact with your stories because of a lack of interest in your topics:

👉 Follow individuals within your niche and expand to neighboring niches2, strategically. 👉 Engage genuinely with others’ content through claps, highlights, and thoughtful comments. 👉 Find publications that accept topics similar to the ones you write about.

👉 Publish consistently so that your stories get on the Medium algorithm's radar. This will encourage the algorithm to recommend your stories to a wider audience, which will bring in more views and reads. At the beginning, publish at least 4 times a week and space your publications wisely.

Tips to attract more followers:

Beyond these aforementioned core strategies, several additional tips surfaced from my experience that expanded my follower base:

Share your stuff on social media.

You can engage with Medium communities on other social media platforms like Discord, Telegram, Meta, Pinterest, and Twitter in order to expand your audience. However, before you do that, make sure that your Medium profile looks clean and professional.

Publish at least 4–6 quality stories so that when new visitors come to check out your profile, they'll have something to read and engage with. So, make sure you do that before seeking followers. Be patient and have a long-term plan for your writing project on Medium. You need to adopt a calm and strategic mindset, in that your focus should be set on developing sustained growth rather than gaining immediate results. Be consistent and disciplined when you publish stories, the frequency of your writing and publishing stories, and, of course, the time when you publish your stories.

TIP:

Adhering to Medium’s daily follow-limit of around 140–150 users while being consistent with the strategies above significantly contributed to the swift increase in my niche-growth of followers.

Being successful on Medium is not an overnight feat but rather a journey that demands patience, long-term strategic thinking, and genuine engagement within the platform’s community. What you need to do to begin this success journey on Medium is to assimilate these tactics and stay committed to them for the longest period of time possible. DO NOT QUIT until you are 100% sure Medium is not for you.
