My Son, My Teacher
My step forward in being a Mom
Before you gave me a step up, my life was full of ones going backward.
I met you as a baby before I knew I needed you. When we would meet again, it was you who grew.
My darker clouds were lifted, spending time together. You reminded me, laugh and play are something to treasure.
Your spirit emblazoned its message of kindness to everyone you met. Your generous heart stayed open, which I will never forget.
The day I married your Father, a new purpose changed my life. A gift like no other, to be a mother and a wife.
Through photo albums, cards, and letters, we’ve written a remarkable story. My son, you’ve shown me the greatest of God’s glory.
As your wedding day draws near, I pray for you, God’s richest blessings. It is only overwhelming joy and love I am expressing.
As my years go by, thoughts and memories may blend. You were never just a step, but my family and son, till my life’s end.
