My Six Resolutions For Life

And to rise above

Don’t ever give up. Don’t ever give in.

The majority of people make resolutions on New Year’s eve but I am different.

I have decided to make a few resolutions on February 14 :)

When the world is committing to other people, I am committing myself to do better, to become better.

There is just one life we get to live.

“Freedom is not the absence of commitments, but the ability to choose — and commit me to — what is best for me.”

There are a lot of things in my life that I think I should have never done and some things I have done sooner.

I know, I cannot rewrite the past but what I can do — I can learn from my past and create an actionable plan for the future.

It’s to learn from experience and prepare for the future.

That’s why I love history so much.

1/ Hobby:

I have to take up a new hobby, something that needs deep focus and makes my heart sing.

And it’s nothing to do with a side hustle or earning money from it, just something that I love and enjoy.

I am researching a few things, so stay tuned to find out more.

2/ Curiosity:

I have to increase my intellectual level by updating my knowledge by reading books and magazines.

It’s going to focus on building a business, entrepreneurship, and creativity.

I am picking up 10 books for this year that I’ll read and put to work.

I will share the list very soon. Some are new and some are re-readings.

3/ Fitness:

I have to keep myself fit by doing new exercises.

Recently, I discovered a Pilates instructor and learned beginner-level moves.

I am liking it so much, so now I signed up for twice-a-week classes.

4/ Become a better leader:

After working with CXO level executives for the last 7 years, I figured out what type of leader I want to be.

In short, I want to work with people and lead with compassion, taking personal responsibility, challenging the status quo, and upgrading people’s lives.

I will make sure every workplace I work in the future has diversity and inclusiveness for real.

5/ Keep on learning:

To help me think critically by asking the right questions.

Indulging in meaningful conversation and listening often.

Engage in thoughtful conversations with people who have achieved what I want to achieve.

Learn from them and accelerate from there.

6/ Write with vulnerability:

I am becoming authentic with every line I write.

This is the post testament to that.

If you know me personally, I am an emotional and sensitive person. And I am okay with that.

I am still learning how much vulnerability I can show through my writing though.

Lastly,

You live life once so live it to the fullest!

I am figuring out what type of life I want to live from now on.

And it’s not going to be easy but I have full trust in myself that I will get to it.

So if you are in a similar ride, don’t worry, sooner or later everyone understands what they need from their life.

And if you are thinking about it, you already won half of the battles.

Mark Twain said, “20 years from now, you will regret the things that you never did rather than the things you did”.
