My Secret AI Wishes
AI vs. HI Dancing Elephants Press
I haven’t given up on humans, but there is a lot I fantasize about.
Artificial Intelligence Fantasy I:
I love the idea of being on the holodeck from the Star Trek series. Good science fiction writers research science and scientists before they journey into the fiction of a subject. That’s just what Star Trek creator Gene Roddenberry did.
Scientist, hologram expert, and inventor Gene Dolgoff in consultation with Gene Roddenberry, designed the holodeck for Star Trek. When traveling far from Earth, the holodeck was the place to have artificial intelligence duplicate environments and characters from Earth and help the crew avoid isolation and loneliness.
Lieutenant Barkley (nickname Lieutenant Broccoli) got into trouble for romancing a likeness of beautiful Diana Troy in the series Star Trek the Next Generation. Day in and day out with no real friends on board, he went on to the holodeck and conducted a long relationship with the life-like hologram of Diana.
So, why not have a room in my house be a holodeck where I could interact with my favorite movie stars and scenes? Where all the reflections of myself were a younger, better version of me, or where all the artificial generations admired how I looked, laughed at all my jokes, and hung around waiting for the wisdom from my lips.
Don’t get me wrong, I love my husband, but I would dance with Fred Astaire and Sammy Davis Jr. I would converse with Idris Elba and Nelson Mandela, and discuss my futuristic ideas with Sam Altman just to name a few.
Artificial Intelligence Fantasy II:
The Perfect AI Plastic Surgeon:
AI can find and fix wrinkles and sagging skin immediately by analyzing and calculating the pitch and tone of the cells, feeding them what they require with precisely guided nanoparticles (by the way the idea of nanoparticles was a science fiction theme but is now a real thing. NIOSH National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health defines nanotechnology:
“Nanotechnology refers to engineered structures, devices, and systems. Nanomaterials have a length scale between 1 and 100 nanometers. At this size, materials begin to exhibit unique properties that affect physical, chemical, and biological behavior. Researching, developing, and utilizing these properties is at the heart of new technology.”
If the Mars Rover can navigate that terrain, why not smooth the nicks and pimples or any distortion on a human? I know it is more PC to believe that everyone is beautiful, but if given the chance to upgrade…why not?
Artificial Intelligence Fantasy III:
The End of Hunger and Obesity
Why not make a perfect daily drink that has all the required nutrients and calories? Artificial intelligence could design a chewable disc that creates the sensation of chewing and eating without having to kill cows, chickens, and all domesticated animal food sources.
Great chefs could simulate preparing food that you see on all the food shows, and if you wanted to taste that food, you would get a small disk that, when chewed, triggers the centers of the brain, giving you the full experience of the meal you have observed without any of the side effects.
Artificial Intelligence Fantasy IV:
No more homelessness.
I must add that I had this idea years ago, long before we thought seriously about AI's capabilities. Now I think this idea may be possible.
Find an area suitable for more tree growth. Grow well-placed gigantic trees cultivated for their giant hollows. (Large trees like Sequoias can live for a thousand years. The oldest Sequoia is over 3,000 years old.) Identify the genetic code for hollows and increase them so the big trees have three or four big hollows. Crystals grow in the hollows modified to coat the giant hollows in the form of small apartments and literally grow housing that is also good for the planet.
According to the International Gem Society:
“Crystal growth is achieved by forcing the unattached atoms in the growth medium to attach themselves to the seed. This is theoretically relatively simple to do.”

Miniature, more perfect solar panels would be mingled among the branches, and all human waste would be converted to immediate fertilizer for the tree community. All energy used would be solar powered, including the external elevators that would take people to their domiciles.
Allowing ourselves to dream and imagine is an exquisite human gift. It is the way we will create with the new tools provided by the development of AI. We must also be diligent in our ethical and moral considerations as we move further into the use and application of artificial intelligence.
I have shared just a few fantasies and far-out ideas. I appreciate the freedom offered by writing on this platform and the joy of writing for Dancing Elephants Press.
Please enjoy the writings of my colleagues and new friends:
