Summary

The author is developing an economic model for a startup aimed at providing individuals with sufficient financial independence, termed "Fuck You Money," to enable them to exit unsatisfactory life situations and make choices aligned with their happiness and health.

Abstract

The author has been contemplating social issues and has developed a new economic model as the foundation for their startup. The core objective is to empower individuals with enough financial resources, colloquially known as "Fuck You Money," to freely leave unsatisfactory jobs, relationships, or any situation that compromises their well-being. This concept is rooted in the belief that financial constraints should not hinder personal happiness or health. The author distinguishes between two economies: the exponential "Have" economy and the linear "Have Not" economy. They argue that those in the "Have" economy inherently possess the financial freedom to shape their lives as they wish, while those in the "Have Not" economy are often trapped by their financial circumstances. The author's vision is to elevate society by ensuring everyone has the means to make choices that reflect their values and desires, which would lead to a collective upgrade in lifestyle and technology, ultimately benefiting the planet.

Opinions

  • The author believes that money is not the source of happiness but is crucial for health and, by extension, happiness.
  • They quote venture capitalist Geoff Lewis, who expresses contentment with his life, indicating that he does not need "Fuck You Money" because he already has the freedom to live as he chooses.
  • The author identifies a societal divide into two economies, where the "Have" economy experiences exponential growth and already possesses significant financial freedom, while the "Have Not" economy grows linearly and lacks such freedom.
  • The author suggests that with universal access to "Fuck You Money," individuals would be able to make better choices, leading to societal improvements such as the ability to adopt new technologies more readily.
  • They envision a future where resources are not wasted on outdated or suboptimal products and services, and where environmental issues like the use of gas-powered cars can be addressed by everyone switching to electric vehicles.
  • The author is optimistic about achieving this vision and invites others to follow their progress through a mailing list.

My Plan: Give the World F*ck You Money

Everyone Needs That Freedom

I have been thinking a lot about social issues lately. I wanted to understand what was actually happening in the world. That is how I ended up creating a new economic model that I am using to launch my startup.

I want to give you freedom. That is my business plan.

Money makes everything hard. Have you ever found yourself sticking in a relationship, or a job, or an otherwise bad situation because you didn’t think you could afford to leave?

That makes no damn sense. Why should money prevent us being happy?

Money can’t buy happiness. Lack of money is extremely unhealthy. So it can buy health.

It is a lot easier to be happy when you are healthy.

Money may not buy happiness, but it certainly helps.

My goal is to give you an opportunity to earn enough money that you don’t have to stay in bad situations. If you need to leave, you can.

That’s called Fuck You Money.

I want the world to have the chance to leave shitty jobs. To leave shitty relationships.

I recently listened to an interview with venture capitalist Geoff Lewis. Somebody asked him about Fuck You Money. He said that he didn’t need it. He had a quote that I want to share.

It’s not Fuck You Money. I don’t want to fuck with anyone.

I started thinking about that. He doesn’t need Fuck You Money because he is wealthy and has been able to craft his life to his wants and needs.

As part of my economic model, I realized we live in two different economies. We live in the Have Economy, which grows exponentially, and we live in the Have Not Economy, which grows linearly.

If you are a part of the Have Economy, you don’t need Fuck You Money. You already have it and it is growing exponentially.

The people that need Fuck You Money are in the linear Have Not Economy. They are the ones stuck in unhealthy situations because they can’t afford to leave them.

If we want a healthy society and a healthy world, everyone needs to have Fuck You Money. Then people get to vote with their wallets.

Going to be an asshole? Bye.

Cheap shitty food? Bye.

Unsafe older cars that are nothing but money pits holding you back? Bye.

If everyone has the freedom of choice, the choices get better for everyone. Imagine what our world would be like if everyone could afford to craft it according to their desires. Imagine how much easier it would be to introduce revolutionary technology. If everyone can afford it, you can upgrade everything instead of having to support older technology that is no longer optimal.

We stop wasting resources on things that don’t provide the same level of value. This also gives us the ability to fix the planet. If everyone can get electric cars, no one needs to use gas anymore. That is the level that I want us to be at.

That is my plan. I have a ton of ideas on how we can get there. We will get there. It is just a matter of time.
