My One Year Medium Anniversary Is Today

Why I Enjoy My Medium Community

Medium Anniversary

I started writing on Medium a year ago today. It has been an interesting year as I have met so many wonderful people, and I have learned so much. Of course, I do not understand the Medium algorithm.

I had 100 followers by my eleventh day, and I have written almost every day. Since I had been writing on other websites for several years, reading and commenting was natural. I quickly learned to clap and highlight articles too.

I have received 5 top writer awards, but I don’t think I’ve ever had an article boosted. I have had articles curated, so I wonder what the difference is. I had an article go viral, but it primarily had views that were not from Medium writers.

Organizing My Days

I try to write evergreen articles, and I wrote an article about what that means. I also write challenge articles based on Keeley Schroder’s and prompts. Sometimes I write on challenges from other people.

I recently wrote about how I organize my writing. I have two documents set up, and the first is called Plan Moving Forward, where I write all my ideas for new articles.
